Pokémon Sleep Good Sleep Day #40 is the first Good Sleep Day event where you can encounter Mew. It runs from October 25 at 4am to October 28 at 3:59am local time, and Mew can appear on any island, regardless of sleep type. The full moon on October 26 offered up to 6× helper Sleep EXP with Growth Incense; on October 27, you can still reach 4× EXP.

Mew has a special appearance chance during your first sleep research each day. A second nap won’t give you another chance. If you’re on one of the Halloween event islands, you can also earn extra research Candy while training helpers with Growth Incense.

The Pokémon Sleep Good Sleep Day #40 schedule runs on the game’s 4am daily reset, not midnight. The October 27 bonuses apply to sleep tracked until 3:59am on October 28. You receive the extra Sleep Points once per day, and every research island qualifies. Sleep styles missing from your Sleep Style Dex also have a better chance of appearing.

How to find Mew during Pokémon Sleep Good Sleep Day #40

You don’t need a particular island, a Mew-specific Incense or the Snoozing sleep type. Mew can appear on any island through Good Sleep Day’s special appearance rate. At most one Pokémon with a special appearance rate can appear in your first research each day. You won’t get another such encounter in a second sleep session.

  1. Choose any island. Use Greengrass Isle or Greengrass Isle (Expert) if you also want Halloween bonuses.
  2. Put the helpers you want to level on your team and set Growth Incense, if you have it, before starting sleep tracking.
  3. Record your main sleep session during the event and check the following research for Mew.
  4. If Mew appears, offer Biscuits to increase its friendship. Special-appearance Pokémon are less likely to become full during the first snack time.
  5. If Mew doesn’t appear, a second nap that day won’t reroll the special encounter. Your unsuccessful attempts gradually improve the chance of seeing it during a future qualifying research session.

Each qualifying research session without a special-appearance Pokémon nudges up your chance of meeting one later. Pokémon Sleep Good Sleep Day #40 also carries over any increased Mew odds from earlier New Moon Days. When a special appearance occurs, it adds an encounter beyond the usual research count, up to 11 Pokémon if Incense or a Good Camp Ticket also increases your total.

Can you befriend another Mew during Pokémon Sleep Good Sleep Day #40?

No. Pokémon Sleep lets you befriend only one Mew, because it is a Mythical Pokémon. If you already have one, a new sighting won’t let you recruit another. If you haven’t befriended Mew yet, its appearance gives you another chance to add friendship points. You can see how the earlier encounters worked in our October New Moon Day guide.

How to get 6× Sleep EXP in Pokémon Sleep Good Sleep Day #40

Growth Incense doubles helper Sleep EXP. On the October 26 full moon, the event’s 3× EXP combined with Incense for 6× normal helper EXP. On October 25 and 27, the 2× event bonus becomes 4× EXP with Growth Incense. Those multipliers increase your team’s sleep experience, not the Candy from researching Pokémon.

For Pokémon Sleep Good Sleep Day #40, put the five helpers you want to train on your team before sleep tracking. Set Growth Incense before recording the session, not afterwards. Pokémon in storage won’t receive your active team’s Sleep EXP. If you missed October 26, the October 27 session still offers 4× normal helper EXP with Incense. The earlier October Growth Week has ended, so its bonus isn’t active now.

This is a change to the Mythical encounter schedule. Mew appeared alongside Darkrai during October’s New Moon Day, but the game’s October 22 update says Mew moves to Good Sleep Day from #40 onward. Beginning with New Moon Day #19, the special Mythical appearance is Darkrai, not Mew. The Pokémon Sleep Good Sleep Day #40 announcement mentions +3 friendship points specifically during New Moon Day research, so don’t count on that bonus during a full-moon Mew encounter.

Does Pokémon Sleep Good Sleep Day #40 stack with Halloween 2026?

Yes. Halloween grants 2× research Candy from October 26–30 on its two event islands, while Good Sleep Day boosts Drowsy Power and helper EXP. On October 27, a qualifying first sleep research can give you 4× helper EXP with Growth Incense and 2× research Candy. Those don’t combine into 8× Candy. Halloween’s 3× Candy days, October 31 and November 1, fall after Good Sleep Day #40 ends.

The Halloween Ghost-helper and Candy bonuses only apply at Greengrass Isle and Greengrass Isle (Expert). Mew’s Good Sleep Day appearance chance applies everywhere. If you’re choosing an island for both events, one of the Greengrass areas gives you the most overlap. Our Halloween guide lists all eight missions and shows how to get the Eevee, Misdreavus and Halloween Pikachu Incenses.

If you want a particular Halloween encounter alongside Mew, check the purple-hat Eevee and Misdreavus and Mismagius guides for their appearance locations and Incense options.

Why didn’t Mew appear during Pokémon Sleep Good Sleep Day #40?

Mew isn’t guaranteed, even if you get a full night’s sleep. The research must come from sleep tracked during October 25–27, and you must be on the day’s first research. A session recorded before the event won’t gain the bonus just because you review it later. Good Sleep Day #40 ends at 3:59am on October 28, and Mew’s next special-appearance chance comes with a future Good Sleep Day.

If the EXP is lower than expected, check that Growth Incense was set before the sleep session and that the helpers you wanted to train were on your team. Growth Incense raises helper EXP, not Mew’s appearance chance. The Relaxing Nap Ticket is a separate feature.
