Pawniard Pokémon GO will be featured on Saturday, 21 November 2026, from 2 to 5 p.m. local time. Community Day brings more wild Pawniard, boosted Shiny chances and possible Special Backgrounds. It’s also a chance to prepare a Kingambit without completing the usual 15-raid evolution challenge.

Pawniard is Dark and Steel type. It evolves into Bisharp for 50 Candy, then into Kingambit for another 100 Candy and a Buddy raid challenge. During Community Day, there’s a much shorter route for the final evolution.

How to get Pawniard Pokémon GO in November 2026

On November 21, Pawniard appears more often in the wild between 2 and 5 p.m.. It also has a very high chance of appearing at PokéStops with active regular Lure Modules from 2 to 9 p.m.. If you’re still looking for a Shiny at 5 p.m., regular Lures give you another four hours of chances.

Pawniard Pokémon GO Field Research includes catch tasks with Stardust, Ultra Balls and more Pawniard encounters. Some encounters can carry a Special Background. The US$1.99 ticket adds research rewards, including three Pawniard encounters with Special Backgrounds.

Can Pawniard be Shiny in Pokémon GO?

Yes. Pawniard can be Shiny, and its Community Day increases your chances of finding one. If you want Shiny Bisharp or Kingambit too, keep the Pawniard you like and build up Candy before evolving it.

Shiny colouring and a Special Background are separate features. A Pawniard can have one without the other. Our Pawniard Community Day guide has the full bonuses, research rewards and timings.

Pawniard Pokémon GO evolution: Bisharp and Kingambit

Evolving Pawniard into Bisharp costs 50 Pawniard Candy. To evolve Bisharp into Kingambit, you’ll also need 100 Pawniard Candy and to complete a Buddy raid challenge. Under normal rules, you must defeat 15 Dark- or Steel-type raid bosses with Bisharp set as your Buddy. Bisharp doesn’t need to fight in those raids.

During 21 November 2026 from 2 to 9 p.m., Pokémon GO temporarily reduces that Buddy requirement to one qualifying raid boss victory. Set Bisharp as your Buddy before the raid, beat one Dark- or Steel-type boss, then check that specific Bisharp’s evolution progress.

Pokémon GO clarified the Pawniard Pokémon GO evolution bonus on 28 October. Earlier event wording suggested the shortcut worked even without Bisharp as your Buddy; the corrected instruction requires it. Set the right Bisharp as your Buddy before entering the raid.

If you evolve Bisharp into Kingambit before 9 p.m. on November 21, Kingambit learns the featured Charged Attack Kowtow Cleave. The move has 75 power in Trainer Battles and 85 in Gyms and raids. After that deadline, the normal evolution requirement returns.

Pawniard type and weaknesses

Pawniard is Dark and Steel, making it especially vulnerable to Fighting-type attacks. Fighting is a double weakness, while Fire and Ground are also super-effective. Keep Pawniard away from those matchups when battling.

Its typing helps against a range of attacks, including Psychic and Ghost. But the Fighting weakness makes Pawniard a poor choice into strong Fighting-type opponents, especially in battles where switching is limited.

How to collect Pawniard Candy quickly

The Pawniard Pokémon GO Community Day gives double catch Candy, which helps if you’re starting without a Bisharp. Use Pinap Berries on catches when you need extra Candy, and catch as many Pawniard as you can during the boosted spawn hours.

A complete Pawniard-to-Kingambit evolution costs 150 Candy altogether, plus the Buddy raid requirement. For multiple Kingambit, each Bisharp needs its own evolution progress, so choose your Buddy carefully.

Is Pawniard worth keeping after the event?

Pawniard is worth collecting for Bisharp and Kingambit, particularly if you’re after Shiny evolutions. Kingambit’s Community Day Charged Attack, Kowtow Cleave, is another reason to keep a good Bisharp ready.

For Pawniard Pokémon GO, the best plan is to use the event to collect strong or Shiny catches and enough Candy. If you want Kingambit with Kowtow Cleave, do the qualifying raid with Bisharp set as your Buddy and finish the evolution before 9 p.m. The Kingambit guide covers its permanent evolution mechanics and available moves.
