Kingambit Pokémon GO gets a much easier evolution route on Saturday, 21 November 2026. From 2 to 9 p.m. local time, defeat one Dark- or Steel-type raid boss with Bisharp set as your Buddy, then evolve Bisharp for a Kingambit that knows Kowtow Cleave.
Normally, you’ll need 15 qualifying raid wins and 100 Pawniard Candy. The November shortcut saves you fourteen raids, but you still need to pick the right Buddy and finish by 9 p.m. to get the special attack.
Kingambit Pokémon GO evolution: Bisharp Buddy and Candy
Pawniard first evolves into Bisharp for 50 Pawniard Candy. Bisharp then needs 100 Pawniard Candy and a Buddy raid challenge to become Kingambit.
For Kingambit Pokémon GO, the standard challenge is to beat 15 Dark- or Steel-type raid bosses with Bisharp as your Buddy. Bisharp doesn’t have to fight; the Buddy you have selected when the raid is won is what matters.
How to get Kingambit with one raid on November 21
During Pawniard Community Day, the normal 15-raid requirement drops to one qualifying raid boss between 2 and 9 p.m. local time. This is a temporary shortcut; it does not permanently change the evolution.
- Select the Bisharp you want to evolve and make it your Buddy.
- Defeat one Dark- or Steel-type raid boss during the seven-hour window.
- Check that Bisharp’s evolution progress has been completed.
- Use 100 Pawniard Candy and evolve before 9 p.m. for the special attack.
Pokémon GO corrected its Community Day announcement on 28 October. It removed earlier wording that suggested any Bisharp would qualify, even when not set as your Buddy. For Kingambit Pokémon GO, select the Bisharp you intend to evolve before you raid.

Kingambit Pokémon GO Kowtow Cleave power and deadline
Evolving Bisharp before 9 p.m. on November 21 gives Kingambit the Charged Attack Kowtow Cleave. It has 75 power in Trainer Battles and 85 power in Gyms and raids. The attack is tied to the evolution during the event, not simply to catching Pawniard.
The main Pawniard spawns end at 5 p.m., but the evolution shortcut and special attack remain available until 9 p.m. That gives you four extra hours to finish a raid and make your final choice.
Can Kingambit be Shiny in Pokémon GO?
Yes. Evolve a Shiny Pawniard into Shiny Bisharp and then Shiny Kingambit if you have the Candy and meet the raid requirement. November Community Day boosts the chance of encountering Shiny Pawniard, making it a useful event for collectors.
A Special Background is a separate feature from Shiny colouring. You can hunt for both, but neither is guaranteed on a particular Pawniard.
Kingambit typing and weaknesses
Kingambit Pokémon GO is Dark and Steel type. Its biggest problem is its double weakness to Fighting. Fire and Ground are also super-effective. Check those matchups carefully before entering a competitive battle or raid.
Its Dark and Steel typing resists several common attack types, including Psychic, Ghost, Dragon, Grass, Ice and Steel. Fighting remains the matchup to avoid.
Kingambit Pokémon GO moves and battle use
Kingambit’s fast moves include Snarl, Metal Claw, Metal Sound and Low Kick. Pokémon GO added Low Kick to its move options with the September 2026 Twilight Trails season. Charged moves include Dark Pulse, Iron Head, X-Scissor, Focus Blast and Foul Play. Kowtow Cleave becomes available when evolving during the November Community Day window.
The best combination depends on the format. Consider your Fast Attack’s energy generation and the types you’re facing before choosing a Charged Attack for the GO Battle League or raids.
Is Kingambit worth evolving during Community Day?
The biggest advantage of November 21 is the one-raid requirement. Have your Bisharp and 100 Candy ready if you want to complete the Pokédex, evolve a Shiny or add Kowtow Cleave to Kingambit’s moves.
For Kingambit Pokémon GO, the essential order is set Bisharp as Buddy, win the qualifying raid, check its progress and evolve by 9 p.m. That handles both the temporary evolution and the time-limited move.
