Nintendo Switch Sports Resort Everything We Know now includes a firm October 22 release, a $49.99 US price, 12 sports, free Wuhu Island exploration, Island Crown progression and online and local multiplayer.

Nintendo Switch Sports Resort is a full Nintendo Switch 2 release built around motion-controlled sports, Wuhu Island and new progression systems. It is separate from the 2022 Nintendo Switch Sports game, so the platform, price and launch details stand on their own. The main game guide covers all twelve activities, including the nine with Island Crown rankings.

The 12-sport lineup is Boxing, Table Tennis, Archery, Tennis, Volleyball, Bowling, Basketball, Golf, Thumb Wrestling, Skateboarding, Power Cruising and Prop Plane. Nintendo also includes Jump Rope as a warm-up activity without counting it as one of the 12 main sports.

Wuhu Island is more than scenery. Nintendo says players can freely explore the resort, chase dolphins in the ocean, hunt for hidden hibiscus flowers and collect Spocco Photos that reveal more about sightseeing spots around the island. The competitive sports have Island Crown progression, while Wuhu Island’s leisure activities provide sightseeing challenges.

Nintendo Switch Sports Resort Everything We Know: key features

Island Crown is a new offline progression mode. Players rise through ranks in each sport before challenging Island Champions and eventually island Legends. Island Crown takes you from 20th place toward the number-one Champion in each of nine competitive sports, followed by tougher Legends. The three leisure activities do not have this ranking system.

Playing sports earns Spocco Points, even offline. Spend them at the Item Center on outfits and accessories for Miis and Sportsmates.
