Modern Warfare 4 Infected is the returning Halloween mode scheduled for October 30, 2026. One player starts Infected, and every Survivor eliminated joins the attacking side. The Infected win when everyone is turned; Survivors win if somebody lasts until the round ends.
The teams have dedicated weapons, so you won’t use a normal Multiplayer class. Infected players get the FSS Carbon Edge Combat Knife, Throwing Knife and Ninja Perk. Survivors have a Rezi 12 shotgun with explosive slugs, Trip Wire and a Concussion Grenade.
Modern Warfare 4 Infected: how the rules work
One randomly chosen player starts on the Infected side. Each Survivor that player eliminates comes back as Infected, adding another attacker to the group. Over time, Survivors have more angles to defend and fewer safe places to retreat.
The Infected win by eliminating the final Survivor before time runs out. The Survivors need at least one player alive when the clock ends. That makes holding your nerve and choosing when to move more valuable than simply chasing kills.
The infected-side weapons
In Modern Warfare 4 Infected, the attackers carry the FSS Carbon Edge Combat Knife for melee, a Throwing Knife for ranged opportunities and Ninja for quieter movement. Move around exposed firing lanes, look for routes that put you close to defenders, and use throwing attacks against Survivors guarding predictable doorways.
With two or more Infected players, attack from different routes instead of queuing through the same corridor. A survivor watching a doorway with an explosive-slug shotgun is much harder to dislodge from the front than from a flank.
Modern Warfare 4 Infected: Survivor loadout
Survivors carry the Rezi 12 shotgun with the Enforcer Apex Attachment’s explosive slugs. They also have Trip Wire and Concussion Grenades. This setup favours controlling short approaches and slowing attacks rather than finding a long-range weapon from an ordinary custom class.
Place Trip Wire on a route you can defend, and save your Concussion Grenade for the moment several attackers push together. Keep your shotgun trained on the closest approach without losing sight of an exit if the position gets overrun.
How to survive until the clock runs out
To survive Modern Warfare 4 Infected, choose cover with an escape route and watch for teammates being turned. A lane that was protected by friends early on may become an attack path after they are eliminated. Staying near other Survivors can help, but avoid crowding into a room with only one door.
Stay alive rather than running after every infected player you spot. Move while you still have an exit, and use cover and equipment to buy time. Even one Survivor making it to the end is enough to secure the round for the surviving side.
How to win Modern Warfare 4 Infected on the attacking side
Prioritise isolated Survivors first so each successful kill expands the Infected team. Then use the larger group to surround fortified positions. Ninja helps you close distance quietly, while the Throwing Knife can pressure someone who is waiting for melee attackers to enter shotgun range.
Work with the rest of the Infected team to surround a defended room. Watch for Trip Wire, use quieter approaches and make defenders choose which entrance to cover. You don’t need to rush into a shotgun head-on when another path is open.
October 30 release and playlist
Modern Warfare 4 Infected is scheduled for Friday, October 30, following Possession on October 29 and Shipment on October 27. Modern Warfare 4 Infected is part of the Halloween playlist rather than the November 6 Season 1 rollout of maps, X01 and the Battle Pass.
