Halloween: The Game Xbox Game Pass is not currently announced as a day one inclusion. Halloween: The Game is listed as a paid Xbox Series X|S release for September 8, 2026, while Xbox separately states that a Game Pass subscription is required for online multiplayer on console.
Is Halloween: The Game Xbox Game Pass Included at Launch?
No day one Halloween: The Game Xbox Game Pass inclusion has been announced. The Xbox storefront sells the Standard Edition separately and lists the Digital Deluxe Edition as a separate purchase, rather than presenting the base game as included with a Game Pass subscription.
That distinction matters because the Xbox page also mentions Game Pass. The subscription reference is about online multiplayer access on console, not about ownership of Halloween: The Game.
Do You Need Game Pass to Play Halloween: The Game?
You need an eligible Xbox Game Pass subscription for online multiplayer on Xbox Series X|S. The Xbox store currently states that online multiplayer on console requires Xbox Game Pass Essential, Premium or Ultimate.
That does not mean Halloween: The Game Xbox Game Pass gives you the game itself. If you want to own and launch Halloween: The Game on Xbox, the current store setup still expects a purchase of the Standard or Digital Deluxe Edition.
The game also includes a standalone single player story mode as Michael Myers. The subscription requirement shown by Xbox is specifically tied to online multiplayer, so the existence of single player is another reason not to treat the Game Pass label as proof of catalogue inclusion.
How Much Does Halloween: The Game Cost on Xbox?
The US Xbox store lists the Standard Edition at $39.99 and the Digital Deluxe Edition at $59.99. The Deluxe version includes additional content and, when preordered, four days of early access beginning September 4.
If Halloween: The Game Xbox Game Pass were a normal day one catalogue release, that would change the buying decision substantially. At the moment, however, the relevant choice is between the paid editions rather than between buying the game and downloading it through Game Pass.
Could Halloween: The Game Come to Game Pass Later?
It could, but there is no reason to present that as confirmed. Games can be added to subscription catalogues after launch, but no future Halloween: The Game Xbox Game Pass date has been announced.
The useful rule here is simple: buy based on what is confirmed now, not on the possibility of a later subscription deal. If Microsoft or IllFonic announces Game Pass inclusion after launch, that becomes a new fact and this page can be updated.
What Xbox Version of Halloween: The Game Is Releasing?
Halloween: The Game is confirmed for Xbox Series X|S. There is no announced Xbox One version. The Xbox listing includes online multiplayer for two to five players, cross platform multiplayer, cross platform co op, 4K Ultra HD, HDR10, 60 fps or higher support, Spatial Sound and Dolby Atmos.
The multiplayer structure is 1v4, with one player controlling Michael Myers and four players acting as Heroes of Haddonfield. The game also includes single player, so Xbox owners are not buying a multiplayer only title.
When Does Halloween: The Game Xbox Game Pass Release?
The standard game launches on Xbox Series X|S on September 8, 2026 at 9:00 AM Pacific. Digital Deluxe preorder players can begin four days earlier on September 4 at the same Pacific time.
You can see the local unlock for every major region in our Halloween: The Game Release Time guide, and the full edition comparison in our Halloween: The Game Editions guide.
Should You Wait for Halloween: The Game Xbox Game Pass?
If your only reason for holding off is the hope of a day one Halloween: The Game Xbox Game Pass announcement, there is currently no confirmed inclusion to plan around. The game is available to preorder as a paid release and the standard launch is only days away.
If you already have Game Pass for online multiplayer, keep in mind that the subscription still serves a purpose on Xbox even though it does not currently provide the game itself. That is the part most likely to cause confusion when reading the storefront.
