It can appear at different door locations throughout the island, and an announcement identifies the currently active one. Published event figures suggest a 12% chance of a house becoming haunted every ninety seconds, remaining haunted for roughly ten minutes, but rely on the actual server message rather than waiting at the same door with a stopwatch.
How to start the ghost-catching minigame
When you reach the correct glowing-green numbered house, stand in front of its door with the Candy Bucket held out and press the interaction button. The game may show a warning such as a house feeling haunted. Knock to investigate. The Ethereal Rose awakens Xylar’s Grasp, a Skeleton Hand at Frankenstein’s Cemetery ritual circle. Those hands are needed for advanced FischFright 3 ceremonies including Dutchman’s Blessing and Omniscient, so the Rose is an important progression item. Don’t discard it or confuse it with Davy’s Rose, Gourdemort’s Rose or Fable Rose, which come from different Halloween activities.

Why can’t I start the Fisch Haunted House Ghost minigame?
Most often the house isn’t currently haunted. Check global chat for a fresh house number and look for the glowing-green plaque. Make sure you have your Candy Bucket equipped and that the door isn’t on a normal knock cooldown. A house that was haunted several minutes earlier may have already returned to normal, so an old announcement isn’t enough to trigger the encounter.
If the Fisch Haunted House Ghost starts but the capture meter won’t fill, keep your targeting ring on the moving ghost rather than waving it across the room. Finish the entire encounter before exiting, and use the Magic Mirror if you’ve been sent to the Phantasmal Zone. Returning to a normal village house after losing the minigame doesn’t complete the objective; find the next active haunted door and try again.

Accept Doomsekkar’s quest first so its ghost counter is active, then work on the sixteen-house circuit for Webby Winston.
