The Fisch Pumpkin King Quest is a three-part questline introduced in FischFright 3, starting at the fountain on Caustic Hallow. You must catch 15 Halloween fish, submit Witch’s Ingredients to Beatrix’s cauldron and place five Spooky Markers at docks across the main sea. The rewards include the Classic Pumpkin Bobber, Pumpkin Mask, Treats and Frightful Caskets.
Although the Fisch Pumpkin King Quest begins on the Halloween island, the later objectives send you to other Fisch locations. This guide covers the stages in order, where to place each Spooky Marker and how to use the journey to complete Goblin tasks without unnecessary trips.
Where to begin the Fisch Pumpkin King Quest
Head to Moosewood’s eastern dock and board the green Flying Dutchman. Speak to the captain and ask to sail to Caustic Hallow. The ship brings you near the village fountain, where the Pumpkin King waits. Interact with him to accept the first stage, then open the Quest Book to check the fish counter. Each new stage begins after you return and claim the previous one.
The Fisch Pumpkin King Quest is different from Pumpkin Pete’s quest. Pete is a smiling giant pumpkin on the raised Pumpkin Patch near some numbered houses and rewards Gourdemort’s Rose. The Pumpkin King stands beside the central fountain and introduces the event’s main systems, so start there before chasing other NPC requests.
Stage one: catch 15 FischFright fish
Your first objective is to catch and turn in 15 event fish. Fish around Caustic Hallow using suitable Halloween bait and check the quest counter as you land catches. They do not have to be fifteen different species. If you want to finish quickly, focus on easy event fish rather than waiting for the rare Nessies or other difficult catches.
When the Fisch Pumpkin King Quest counter reaches 15/15, return to the fountain and speak to the King. This stage rewards the Classic Pumpkin Bobber, 500 Treats and Frightful Caskets. These prizes are available before completing the entire chain. Keep valuable mutated event fish for the later rituals instead of selling every catch to the Frightful Merchant.
Stage two: Witch’s Ingredients and Beatrix’s cauldron
The second objective sends you to collect Witch’s Ingredients from Goblin events. Goblins appear around the main sea following announcements, with tasks involving catches, emotes, jumps or simple answers. Complete challenges to receive ingredients, then return to Caustic Hallow and find Beatrix beside her bubbling cauldron near the central tree.
The Fisch Pumpkin King Quest asks you to offer the required Goblin-sourced ingredients, described in event walkthroughs as four-star ingredients, at Beatrix’s cauldron. Interact with the cauldron, choose Offer Ingredient and confirm the contribution. The items add Hex Energy towards Beatrix’s separate reward track, which includes the Eldritch Rod. Check the Quest Book to confirm the King has credited your offerings before depositing extras.
If you are also completing the Youngster Goblin’s quest, hold back ten Witch’s Ingredients for him. Beatrix’s Offer All Ingredients option consumes eligible items, and you don’t want to repeat a series of Goblin challenges simply because you offered something meant for another NPC. Stage three: all five Spooky Marker locations
For the final Fisch Pumpkin King Quest stage, take Spooky Markers to five named docks in this order: Moosewood, Roslit Bay, Snowcap Island, Castaway Cliffs and Forsaken Shores. They are placed near the dock or landing area of each island. Look for the quest interaction prompt instead of trying to equip a marker and drop it somewhere arbitrary on the island.

The Fisch Pumpkin King Quest markers are sequential. If you sail to Forsaken Shores before finishing Moosewood, the final marker won’t complete the objective. Follow the currently active location in the Quest Book and confirm each placement before leaving the island. When all five are registered, return to the Pumpkin King on Caustic Hallow to claim your final rewards.

Completing the Fisch Pumpkin King Quest earns you currency and Caskets that help with the rest of the Halloween event. The Pumpkin Mask is the final unique cosmetic reward, not the same thing as the masks sold aboard the Flying Dutchman’s shop. Keep Treats for purchases you need later, including Davy’s Rose and ritual materials.
Fastest order to complete the Fisch Pumpkin King Quest
Finish the first fifteen fish and turn them in before spending much time on the main map. Then work on Goblin challenges, accumulating enough ingredients for stage two. Once the marker objective unlocks, place each marker while travelling to the same islands for Goblins or other quests. That way you’re not making the same ferry journey twice, and your Goblin rewards can advance Beatrix’s cauldron too.

Why isn’t the Fisch Pumpkin King Quest progressing?
If the first counter isn’t increasing, make sure the caught fish are actually FischFright event catches and return to the King after completing fifteen. If the cauldron stage is stuck, verify that you’ve submitted eligible Witch’s Ingredients to Beatrix, not simply collected them. For the Spooky Markers, check the active dock shown in your Quest Book and use its interaction prompt before sailing away.
