Epic Games free game not in Library? Clear the Installed filter first. It can hide games you’ve claimed but haven’t downloaded. Then check you’re signed into the account that completed checkout. These are the quickest ways to find an apparently missing game.

Epic also provides steps for hidden items, account purchases and refreshing the Launcher. None requires deleting your installed files. Work through the following checks before contacting support.

For an Epic Games free game not in Library, open the Launcher and select Library. In the legacy Launcher, open Filters, uncheck Installed and press Reset. In Launcher Preview, open Filter and sort, uncheck Installed and select Clear. Search for the game again.

If you claimed a giveaway on the website but haven’t installed it, the Installed filter is especially likely to be the problem. A completed £0 order adds the game to your account, not automatically to your PC.

Check which Epic account claimed the game

Still missing? Sign out and check your Epic account. You may have one account connected to a console and another created through email, Google or a different login. Use the same sign-in method you used when redeeming the game. Epic also advises checking that the title was claimed for the correct platform and supports your operating system. A Windows-only game won’t install on an unsupported device.

In Epic’s account settings, open Transactions → Purchases. Find the game and expand the transaction. A redeemed giveaway produces a £0 order. Your email receipt can also help identify the account that completed checkout.

Look up the £0 order in Transaction History

An Epic Games free game not in Library may simply be hidden in Launcher Preview. Click the Epic logo at the top left, choose Settings and then Library. Under Manage hidden items, select Unhide beside the title, or turn on Show hidden items.

Epic Games free game not in Library: Unhide it

In the legacy Launcher, click Refresh beside the Library heading. You can also exit the Launcher from the Windows system tray and reopen it. Epic provides webcache-clearing instructions for stubborn Launcher issues; there is no reason to delete a game’s installation folder.

An Epic Games free game not in Library has not necessarily expired. Epic confirms that full weekly giveaways stay on the account after the claim period. Demos, open betas and free-weekend builds can be different because their access is limited to an event.

Restart the Launcher and refresh Library

Other explanations include a refunded purchase or a title sent as a gift. Epic removes refunded games from the buyer’s Library. If an order shows Gifted to, that game went to the recipient instead. If the entire Library tab is missing rather than a single title, check the Launcher’s Library visibility setting; Epic treats a hidden Library view as a separate display issue.

Does the game disappear after the offer ends?

If a completed order is recorded and the title is still absent, contact Epic Games Player Support with the game name and purchase details. If checkout never completed, redeem the free title while its offer remains live.

For an Epic Games free game not in Library such as Sorry We’re Closed, check the £0 base-game order before 5 November 2026 at 4 PM GMT. Our claim guide explains the current promotion, including the paid Deluxe extras.

Our weekly tracker lists new offers, and the ownership guide explains which free games you keep. Start with filters, account details and the £0 transaction: those checks usually show whether the game was successfully claimed.
