Dying Light 2 Showdown Candies come from weekly featured infected in Villedor and from Halloween Chests during encounters. A chest gives 40 in the daytime or 80 at night, making chests the easiest confirmed way to build a predictable total. You donate these Candies at Baka’s shop to qualify for community weapon rewards.
Don’t confuse them with ordinary Halloween Candies. Those pay for Baka’s seasonal merchandise, while Showdown Candies decide the Frighter versus Gravegade vote. Twenty donated, split between the sides, makes you eligible for both goals and pays 1,000 regular Halloween Candies.
Dying Light 2 Showdown Candies: amounts per chest
| Source | Showdown Candy amount |
|---|---|
| Halloween Chest (day) | 40 |
| Halloween Chest (night) | 80 |
| Featured Frighter/Gravegade enemies | Varies; no official exact number |
How to find Halloween Chests
Halloween Chests are the easiest way to plan a farming run because the amount inside is fixed. A chest gives 40 Showdown Candies in daylight or 80 at night. The nighttime payout doubles, but Villedor is more dangerous after dark. Choose it if you’re comfortable surviving night encounters. Look for the active Halloween encounters around Villedor, rather than relying on a copied chest spawn. Techland hasn’t published a permanent chest map or a respawn timer.

Which enemies drop Showdown Candies?
During the first Halloween Showdown week, Frighter and Gravegade infected appear in the open world and can drop Showdown Candies when killed. They are found in the seasonal encounters around Villedor. Techland says featured enemies are introduced week by week and remain in the world afterwards, but Showdown Candy drops are attached to whichever enemies are being featured that week. You can kill ordinary Halloween infected for separate shop currency, yet that does not mean every seasonal enemy drops the faction-vote currency. Check the loot name before committing to a farming route.
Showdown and Halloween Candies are different
Dying Light 2 Showdown Candies are the contribution currency you hand to Baka to help one of two faction goals. Halloween Candies are regular event money for buying items from Baka’s shop. The latter drop from Halloween-themed enemies in Villedor and Tower Raid. For Dying Light 2 Showdown Candies, the Halloween Chest’s 40 or 80 payout refers only to the faction currency. You cannot assume a pile of normal Halloween Candies qualifies you for the faction’s sword. The donation bonus is the bridge between them: qualifying Showdown contributions award regular Halloween Candies.
Donate your first 20 Candies
To qualify for both week-one goals using Dying Light 2 Showdown Candies, get at least 20 Showdown Candies. Donate ten to Frighter and ten to Gravegade at Baka, who is outside the Bazaar. This activates your eligibility for both weapon goals, provided the community reaches them, and gives 500 Halloween Candies for each side. One daytime chest’s 40 Showdown Candies covers both minimum donations, leaving twenty to spend towards your preferred character’s vote. One nighttime chest’s eighty supplies both minimums and sixty extra for voting.
Dying Light 2 Showdown Candies: day or night?
For raw Candy per chest, nighttime is better: two daytime chests give 80, the same as a single nighttime chest. That does not guarantee night is faster per minute, because chests are encountered rather than available from a permanent named vending spot. If you’re farming Dying Light 2 Showdown Candies but nighttime chases keep slowing you down, safer daytime encounters may be the better choice. If you are comfortable navigating dark Villedor, prioritise the 80-Candy rewards and fight featured infected along the route for additional drops. No official percentage-based drop rate for Frighter or Gravegade has been supplied.
Where to donate at Baka
To donate Dying Light 2 Showdown Candies, go to the outside wall of the Bazaar, the former church, and interact with Baka’s Event Shop. Select the faction you wish to support and contribute your Showdown Candies. Frighter is associated with the Whisperblade, while Gravegade is associated with the Neural Maul. Techland confirms you may support both factions in the same week and qualify for both weapons if each goal reaches its shared threshold. Give your minimum ten to each first, then put additional Candies behind whichever character-themed charm you prefer.

When do the weapons arrive?
Once you’ve donated ten Dying Light 2 Showdown Candies to each goal, the 500 Halloween Candy participation bonuses are immediate. Weapon rewards are not: they depend on the collective goal being reached, and then go automatically to the eligible player’s in-game stash. The winning faction’s character charm is based on the weekly vote and must be claimed separately on Dying Light Outpost. Before asking why your Whisperblade is missing, verify that you joined the event on Outpost, donated at least ten to Frighter that week and that the Frighter goal has finished.
When do Showdown Candies expire?
The opportunity to earn Dying Light 2 Showdown Candies runs from 26 October to 16 November, with weekly winner claims opening on 2, 9 and 16 November. Each week’s weapon eligibility depends on participating during that week’s window. Techland says unused Showdown Candies are deleted after the event ends. Any earned but unclaimed weekly charms can be claimed through 23 November; that is a claim grace period, not another week of farming. If you already met both ten-Candy thresholds, more contributions still push your chosen side toward the charm vote.
Check your weekly progress on the official Halloween Showdown Outpost page.
