Dead by Daylight Void Energy 2026: How to Earn It and Use Halloween Abilities

Dead by Daylight Haunted by Daylight 2026

Dead by Daylight Void Energy 2026 changes how the game works in October 2026. Void Energy powers the Halloween event abilities directly. Unlike older versions of Haunted by Daylight, players no longer have to enter a separate Void Realm to craft their powers.

Survivors can use Void Crystals for Fog Clouds or remote Generator repairs, while Killers can activate Void Haunts and Empowered Breaks. Each side uses its own event abilities during the Trial.

The 2026 event keeps these powers on the regular Trial map. The connected Void Portals provide routes across the map, but both the Killer and Survivors can use them, so teleporting isn’t necessarily a safe escape.

Dead by Daylight Void Energy 2026: how to earn energy

Haunted by Daylight 2026 rewards interactions during a Trial, with the redesigned Void Portals supplying significant amounts of energy for Survivors. Watch the resource display to see what you’ve earned. Look at the Void Energy meter while opening Rifts and using event interactions to track your available charges.

Dead by Daylight Void Energy 2026: using energy as survivor

Survivors can trigger event effects with Void Crystals. The crystals create Fog Clouds to obscure Killer sightlines or contribute to Generator repairs remotely. Choose based on whether you need a safer chase route or objective progress. A smoke effect does not automatically make you invisible.

Killers get access to Halloween powers such as Void Haunts and Empowered Breaks. Haunts pursue Survivors and inflict Hindered; Empowered Breaks speed up object breaking. These abilities are temporary event mechanics, not permanent perks.

Dead by Daylight Void Energy 2026: finding portal pairs

The new Void Portals work in connected pairs. Opening further Void Rifts creates extra portal connections, which remain available until the Trial ends. Killers can teleport through these routes as well, so a Survivor using a portal for a quick escape may be followed.

Dead by Daylight Void Energy 2026: energy versus dark trinkets

Void Energy is a match resource, used for abilities in a live Trial. Dark Trinkets are part of the Halloween cosmetic reward progression. If you’re trying to buy a mask or outfit, check the event reward menus. Spending Void Energy won’t unlock a Dark Trinket cosmetic.

How to use Void Energy during a Haunted by Daylight match

  1. Queue for a Haunted by Daylight Trial and check the event resource display.
  2. As Survivor, interact with the available Void Portals and event objectives to gain energy.
  3. Use the Survivor event interactions to create a Fog Cloud or apply a Void Crystal to a Generator, depending on what you need.
  4. As Killer, look for the Void Haunt and Empowered Break interactions when they become available.
  5. Watch the available event resource after activation so you know when you can use another ability.

Void Portals connect two locations on the map. A Survivor can use one to change direction during a chase, but a Killer can follow through the same connection. Consider where the exit leads before entering a portal; using it while the Killer can see you may simply move the chase to the other end.

For Survivors, a Fog Cloud helps interrupt sightlines but doesn’t prevent the Killer from moving through the same area. Remote Generator progress is useful when you must leave an objective. For Killers, a Void Haunt applies Hindered when it catches a Survivor, while an Empowered Break helps destroy an obstacle more quickly.

Dead by Daylight Void Energy 2026: why an ability won’t activate

Check that you’re in the Haunted by Daylight event and have enough resource for the interaction. Survivor and Killer prompts differ, and a Generator-based effect needs an appropriate Generator. Follow the on-screen event prompts rather than using a keybind remembered from previous years.
