Dead by Daylight Void Crystals 2026 affects players using the October 2026 game update. Void Crystals are a Survivor tool in Haunted by Daylight 2026. The event now takes place on the regular Trial map instead of asking players to enter a separate Void Realm to craft abilities.

Portals connect in pairs and both sides can teleport through them. Opening further Void Rifts establishes additional pairs that remain active all Trial. If a Killer uses your exit, a Fog Cloud by itself might not be enough. Roaming Void Haunts also pursue Survivors and apply Hindered, which affects escape speed.
How to use a Void Crystal during a chase
- Enter the Haunted by Daylight event as Survivor with your available crystals.
- When the Killer approaches, look for a turn, wall or other cover that can conceal your route.
- Use the Crystal’s Fog Cloud interaction and move towards cover while the Killer’s sightline is interrupted.
- Keep running towards a window, pallet or another route rather than standing inside the smoke.
A Fog Cloud isn’t a teleport. The Killer can still move through it and may predict where you’re heading. It’s most useful when combined with a change of direction or an obstacle that breaks line of sight. If the Killer is already close enough to hit you, using smoke without an escape route may achieve very little.
When to use a Crystal on a Generator
The other Survivor use places a Crystal on a Generator to contribute repair progress remotely. Approach a Generator where the event interaction is available, attach the Crystal and then move to your next objective. This is different from working on the Generator manually, and can be useful when you need to reposition while still contributing to the team’s repair work.
Choose based on what is happening in the Trial. If the Killer is chasing you, having a Fog Cloud available may matter more than a small amount of remote repair. If you’re safe and the team needs Generator progress, the repair interaction becomes more valuable.

Make sure you’re playing an eligible Haunted by Daylight Trial, have the necessary event resource and are targeting an appropriate object. A Generator interaction and Smoke Bomb use aren’t the same input context. Check the event prompts before assuming an unavailable option is a bug.
