Anno 117 free weekend is running from November 5 to 9, 2026 on PC through Ubisoft Connect and on PlayStation 5. There’s also an Epic Games Store trial. Xbox Series X|S players can try the game without Game Pass, but Xbox Wire lists November 8 as the end of its Free Play Days offer, one day earlier than Ubisoft’s general announcement.
You can build your first Roman cities in Latium and Albion without paying for the base game during the trial. If you decide to buy it later, Ubisoft says your progress carries over. The new Dawn of the Delta expansion is a separate paid release, not an extra region promised as part of the free trial.
Anno 117 free weekend: dates and platforms

Ubisoft gives November 5 to 9 for the Anno 117 free weekend across its participating platforms. Microsoft’s Xbox Free Play Days announcement ends on November 8 instead. That’s a genuine difference between official announcements, so check the time remaining on your own platform rather than treating the later date as guaranteed on Xbox.
| Platform | Advertised trial dates | Important detail |
|---|---|---|
| Ubisoft Connect on PC | November 5 to 9 | No Game Pass; use Ubisoft’s PC free-weekend offer |
| Epic Games Store on PC | November 5 to 9 | Separate free-weekend store listing |
| PlayStation 5 | November 5 to 9 | Free-weekend offer on PS5 |
| Xbox Series X|S | November 5 to 8 on Xbox Free Play Days | All Xbox members; no Game Pass needed |
Neither publisher notice gives a precise UK closing hour that applies to every store. On the last day, the countdown shown in your launcher or console store is more useful than a guessed midnight deadline.
How to play the Anno 117 free weekend on PC
On PC, launch Ubisoft Connect, sign in to your Ubisoft account and find Anno 117: Pax Romana. Choose the free-weekend download or play option while it’s available. You shouldn’t need to buy a paid edition just to use Ubisoft’s trial.
The Epic Games Store also has a separate Anno 117: Pax Romana Free Weekend page, marked as a Demo with a Get option. Epic lists November 5 to 9, requires a Ubisoft login and says your progress is saved if you later buy the game. Its PC requirements list 117 GB of storage, so check free space before starting a large download.
Don’t assume the Steam version is included in the Anno 117 free weekend. Ubisoft advertises its PC trial through Ubisoft Connect, and Epic has a separate offer. The fact that Steam is selling the game and its expansions doesn’t make its standard paid listing a free-weekend download.
How to try Anno 117 on Xbox or PS5
For Xbox Series X|S, go to the Microsoft Store’s Subscriptions section and open Free Play Days. Xbox says Anno 117 is available to all members from November 5 to 8, with no Game Pass subscription required. Look for the trial installation option, not the paid Gold Edition.
For PS5, check the game’s PlayStation Store page for the current trial or free-weekend offer. Ubisoft confirms PlayStation participation through November 9, but the announcement doesn’t give a single menu label or precise release hour for every region.
The Xbox Free Play Days November 2026 guide covers all eight participating games and shows which ones need Game Pass. Anno 117 is one of just two in that Xbox line-up that don’t.
Does the Anno 117 free weekend include Dawn of the Delta?

The Anno 117 free weekend covers Anno 117: Pax Romana, the base city-builder. Dawn of the Delta launched on November 5 as the third expansion in Year 1. Its new Aegyptus province, Nile river settlements, deities and production chains belong to separately sold expansion content, or to an edition or pass that includes it.
You still have plenty to try without Aegyptus. The base game lets you establish settlements in Latium and Albion, manage production and trade, and decide how to handle the demands of Rome. You can work out whether you enjoy its city-building systems before spending anything on an expansion.
Do you keep your progress after November 9?
Yes, your progress carries over if you buy the full game. Ubisoft confirms this for the Anno 117 free weekend, and Epic says the same on its trial page. That doesn’t mean you keep a playable game licence for free: you’ll need to purchase the game or otherwise have valid access once the offer finishes.
Ubisoft also has sale discounts of up to 40% on eligible products. Its published deadlines vary: December 1 for Ubisoft Store, November 18 for Steam, November 20 for PlayStation and November 19 for Xbox. Those are purchase discount deadlines, not extensions of the free weekend.
What if Anno 117 doesn’t show a free option?
If you can’t find the free version, check your storefront first. Ubisoft Connect and Epic have separate PC offers, Xbox uses Free Play Days, and PlayStation has its own store listing. Make sure you’re viewing the base game trial rather than a paid edition or the Dawn of the Delta add-on.
If it’s the Xbox offer that’s missing, our Xbox Free Play Days troubleshooting guide goes through the store and account checks. Anno 117 doesn’t need Game Pass on Xbox this weekend, even though most of the other games in the same collection do.
Is Anno 117 completely free this weekend?
The Anno 117 free weekend means free to play for a few days, not free to keep. Ubisoft advertises November 9 as the last day of its general promotion; Xbox Wire’s own Free Play Days listing ends November 8. The store countdown is the safest way to judge your remaining time.
For another strategy game to try, Age of Wonders 4 is also free to play on Steam until Monday, November 9 at 6 PM GMT. That trial has a confirmed closing hour and different Xbox membership rules.
