Marvel Snap Leech October 2026 Buff makes Leech a 4-Cost, 5-Power card and extends his On Reveal to remove text from cards costing six or more in your opponent’s hand. Before Second Dinner’s October 29 update, Leech had 4 Power and targeted cards costing exactly six.

Leech now reaches seven- and eight-Cost cards as well as six-Cost ones. He still checks only the opponent’s hand when revealed, so cards that are already on the board are outside his reach.

Leech still costs four Energy and only checks for targets when his On Reveal resolves. The extra point of Power is useful even when no target is available, but his ability isn’t an Ongoing effect that keeps checking the opponent’s hand.

Marvel Snap Leech October 2026 Buff: eligible cards

The Marvel Snap Leech October 2026 Buff changes the key wording from “6-Cost cards” to “6-Cost or more cards”. That extra phrase includes more expensive cards, as long as they’re still in the opponent’s hand when Leech reveals.

A six-Cost card is still a valid target. So are cards currently costing seven, eight or more; one costing five or less isn’t. Leech removes their text regardless of whether that text is On Reveal, Ongoing or another ability. He doesn’t need to name those cards individually.

Second Dinner highlights Death as an important example. The developer explains that the new Leech can send Death back to 8 Cost in the relevant interaction. That is the clearest illustration of why expanding the check above six matters: the previous wording did not reach that high-Cost category.

Marvel Snap Leech October 2026 Buff: does it remove every ability?

No. Leech does not strip text from the entire opposing deck or the cards already in play. His ability checks cards in your opponent’s hand when On Reveal happens, and only those meeting the stated Cost condition lose their text.

Once a card is in play, Leech cannot reach back and remove its text. He can only affect qualifying cards in hand at the moment his On Reveal happens. That makes the timing of a four-Energy Leech important when you’re trying to disrupt an expensive play.

Why did Second Dinner buff Leech?

Leech has a long history of disruptive effects, and Second Dinner says the narrower version targeting only 6-Cost cards had become too weak. The developer wants a useful way for players at lower Collection Levels to interact with powerful opposing combos without returning Leech to his older, broader forms.

At 4/5, Leech gives you an extra point in his own location while disrupting the opponent’s hand. Second Dinner also mentions Zombie Galacti and Fin Fang Foom as examples of expensive cards its broader wording can help address.

When should you play Leech after the OTA?

Leech’s effect happens when he is revealed, so timing matters more than simply having him in your deck. You want relevant expensive cards to still be in the opposing hand when he resolves. Playing him without a qualifying target gives you the four-Cost, five-Power body, but no ability text to remove.

The Marvel Snap Leech October 2026 Buff gives you a wider range of possible targets, not perfect information about the opposing hand. Consider whether their deck is likely to be holding an expensive finisher before committing four Energy.

How Leech compares with the other October 29 changes

The same OTA reduces Scarlet Witch, Queen of Chaos to 3/3 and En Sabah Nur to 4/5, while its transformed Apocalypse drops to 4/8. Hellcow changes from 4/7 to 3/5, making her cheaper without rewriting her Activate discard ability.

Those changes are separate from Leech’s new targeting. For the whole list, read our October 29 balance changes guide. If you use Discard, the Hellcow buff guide has that card’s timing and trade-offs.

Is Leech worth using now?

Leech’s new 4/5 body is less of a sacrifice when you need to play a disruptive card. The broader six-or-more-Cost rule also gives him more potential targets, although the opponent still has to be holding one.

If you’re building around the Marvel Snap Leech October 2026 Buff, check whether your deck can comfortably spend turn four on a hand-disruption card. The new figures make that decision easier, but the target restriction still determines whether the ability does anything.
