Escape Academy 2 ziplines make travelling around the Academy much quicker. The network is run by five students called the Ips, who you’ll meet in the courtyard. A zip costs 12 Escape Bucks, so you can start opening shortcuts as you explore the larger campus.
Those Bucks are also needed for story items, so it pays to think about which routes you’ll use most. Here’s where to find the Ips, how to earn the currency and what to expect when the full game launches on 5 November 2026.
Where to find Escape Academy 2 ziplines and the Ips

Start in the Academy courtyard. That’s where Coin Crew Games says you’ll first meet the Ips. Their names are Skip, Trip, Chip, Pip and Charles, and all five help run the ziplines that connect different campus areas.
They’re not simply decorative characters. The Ips are tied to expanding the travel network, so keep an eye out for them as you explore beyond the courtyard. The developer’s June 26 update describes helping the group across the different campuses and gaining access to new connections along the way.
Start in the courtyard, then keep an eye out for the Ips as you reach the other campus areas. Coin Crew Games ties each new connection to helping members of the group.
How much do Escape Academy 2 ziplines cost?
Coin Crew Games quotes 12 Escape Bucks for one zip. The same devlog makes a jokey sales pitch involving a 36-Buck payment and two extra ziplines. That’s part of the Ips’ humour, not a reason to budget around a guaranteed discount.
Before buying several routes, save enough money for your next class. Books and other essential quest items use the same currency as the ziplines.
There is a reason to pay attention to your balance: Escape Bucks also buy critical quest items, including books for classes. When choosing between another travel connection and an item you need to progress, check what your next story task actually requires.
How to unlock more Escape Academy 2 ziplines
To expand the network, start with the Ips in the courtyard, set aside Escape Bucks for a connection, and look for more members of the group as you enter new campus areas. Helping them is how Coin Crew Games says you’ll open additional routes.
Escape Academy 2 ziplines are designed for trips across the school grounds. The Headmaster’s Tower, Science Campus and Campus Gardens are places you’ll explore, so a well-chosen line saves time on return visits. The developer hasn’t supplied a full route map, but the courtyard Ips give you the starting point.
This isn’t instant teleportation: the footage shows the player travelling along a cable. Coin Crew Games hopes players, especially speedrunners, will discover efficient ways to combine those routes.
How to earn Escape Bucks for ziplines
You can fund Escape Academy 2 ziplines in two confirmed ways: collect Escape Bucks scattered around campus and earn them through Extra Credit quests. The April economy devlog calls Bucks one of the first things you can pick up while exploring, while the May Extra Credit devlog explains how student side activities provide more cash.
Extra Credit involves helping students and solving optional puzzles. Some participation is needed to fund story progression, but you can choose which tasks suit you.
For examples, read our Escape Academy 2 Extra Credit quests guide, which covers the Clown Club, Rubik’s Grid, Science Campus and the Gardens maze. The main point for the ziplines is simple: don’t spend every Buck before checking whether a quest needs you to buy something.
Why ziplines replaced bicycles
Before settling on Escape Academy 2 ziplines, Coin Crew Games experimented with bicycles. The problem was that bikes largely kept players on the ground, limiting the freedom the studio wanted in its larger open-world campus. Ziplines allow quicker movement while making more use of the environment’s height and layout.
You can still explore on foot. The zipline option is there for trips when you’ve already looked around an area and want to get back to a classroom, meet a character or continue a puzzle without retracing the entire route.
Can you unlock ziplines in the demo?
The updated demo covers the first chapter and includes campus exploration, Extra Credit and a quest tracker. It introduces the currency system before the full 5 November 2026 release, rather than showing every route across the complete Academy.
Our Escape Academy 2 demo guide covers that first chapter. For ziplines in the full game, the Ips and their courtyard meeting place are the details to remember.
