The Escape Academy 2 release date is Thursday, November 5, 2026. Coin Crew Games and iam8bit Presents are launching Back 2 School on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Xbox on PC and Steam. Xbox has confirmed day-one Game Pass access and Play Anywhere for eligible Xbox digital owners.
Back 2 School takes the original escape-room formula into an entire school campus. There are hidden passages to investigate, teachers to meet and an old conspiracy behind the Academy. If you’re planning to play with a friend, both online and couch co-op are part of the full campaign.
Escape Academy 2 release date and UK launch
Xbox’s October release schedule and Coin Crew’s Steam announcement both give November 5. The listed Xbox platforms are Series X|S, Xbox One and Xbox on PC; Steam has its own PC edition. The original Escape Academy is not a required purchase for this new campaign.
The $19.99 figure in Xbox’s US listing is a US price, not a verified British one. Check the UK storefront when purchasing, and use the release time shown there rather than assuming it will unlock at midnight.
Escape Academy 2 release date and Game Pass access
Yes. The sequel is a day-one Game Pass launch. Xbox Play Anywhere also applies to eligible digital purchases made through Xbox, allowing play across participating console and Windows PC versions.

Game Pass access depends on your active plan and device. Steam is a separate purchase from Xbox digital ownership; Play Anywhere is not a promise that every storefront can share saves or online lobbies. The Xbox Store will show the options available to your account.
What is new in Escape Academy 2?
The Academy has expanded well beyond a series of disconnected escape rooms. There is a new storyline about the school’s founding, with secret passages, traps and puzzles in the campus itself. You’ll still enter the more elaborate escape-room challenges as the mystery unfolds.
You’ll see both new faces and characters returning from the first game, and there are Extra Credit activities to tackle away from the main story. Exploring the grounds between classes is part of solving the bigger mystery, rather than just a way of getting from one level to the next.
Escape Academy 2 multiplayer and No-Timer Mode
Play on your own, online with a friend or together in local split-screen. Coin Crew says the entire campaign supports co-op, so you won’t have to stop playing together when you leave an individual escape room.
There’s also an optional No-Timer Mode for people who prefer to think through clues without racing a clock. Our Escape Academy 2 multiplayer guide covers playing on one screen versus joining online.

Escape Academy 2 PC system requirements
For the Escape Academy 2 release date, the official Windows minimum is Windows 11, an Intel Core i5-8400, 16 GB RAM, GTX 1050 Ti with 4 GB VRAM, DirectX 11 and 5 GB storage. That 5 GB figure is a PC requirement, not an Xbox console download size.
The recommended Windows specification includes a Ryzen 7 2700, 16 GB RAM, RTX 3060 and DirectX 12. If you’re on SteamOS or Linux, check the separate requirements section on the game listing for your hardware.
Is there an Escape Academy 2 demo?
The free Steam demo contains the first chapter, beginning with the trip to Escape Academy and continuing into campus exploration and a Clocktower challenge. It can be played solo or with a friend online or locally.
Our Escape Academy 2 demo guide explains the first chapter. It doesn’t establish a guaranteed save transfer into the full game, so don’t rely on carrying your inventory forward. The Escape Academy 2 release date for the full sequel is still November 5.
