Predator Atlas 8 G3 Extreme is Acer’s faster version of its 8-inch Windows gaming handheld. It pairs an Intel Arc G3 Extreme processor with Arc B390 graphics, a 1TB SSD and an 80Wh battery. The standard G3 uses Arc B370 graphics, a 512GB SSD and a smaller 60Wh battery, making the difference more substantial than a simple RAM upgrade.

UK pricing starts at £999.99 for the regular G3 and £1,299.99 for the 24GB G3 Extreme. A higher-memory Extreme model costs £1,499.99. Both versions share the same 120Hz WUXGA screen, Windows 11 software and control layout, so the decision comes down to graphics, capacity, portability and price.

Acer’s announced UK lineup contains four combinations, shown in the table. The 24GB standard G3 appears on Acer’s own store for £1,099.99 with a Coming Soon label. The 24GB G3 Extreme has also appeared through UK retailers at approximately £1,299.99, but availability depends on the exact SKU.

Intel Arc B370 versus Arc B390 graphics

The standard G3 has Intel Arc B370 graphics; the Predator Atlas 8 G3 Extreme gets Arc B390. That’s the most important internal hardware difference, especially for players looking at demanding Windows games and higher image-quality settings.

Both graphics chips use Intel’s Xe3 architecture, with XeSS 3 features available through supported games and drivers. The B390 is the higher-tier GPU. Whether it translates into smoother play depends on the game, graphics settings and power mode, so choose the tier based on the library you actually want to run.

Predator Atlas 8 G3 Extreme RAM and SSD differences

A standard G3 comes with either 16GB or 24GB LPDDR5X memory, but both announced versions have a 512GB SSD. The Extreme line gives you a 1TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD whether you choose 24GB or 32GB RAM. That storage step alone is helpful when your PC gaming library includes several large downloads.

At the announced UK prices, stepping from the 24GB G3 (£1,099.99) to the 24GB G3 Extreme (£1,299.99) adds £200. That pays for Arc B390 rather than B370, a 1TB rather than 512GB SSD and an 80Wh rather than 60Wh battery. The 32GB Extreme then adds another £200 for 8GB of memory.

The 24GB Extreme is the best-balanced choice in the lineup for anyone prioritising games and storage. Its larger SSD is particularly useful if your handheld library includes several modern PC releases. The 32GB version is worth considering for workloads that actually need more shared system memory.

Predator Atlas 8 G3 Extreme battery and weight

Standard G3 configurations include a 60Wh battery. Both Extreme models use 80Wh, which is one-third more rated energy capacity. That does not guarantee one-third longer gaming sessions because the processors, power modes and games can draw different amounts of power.

Acer specifies the 60Wh variants at under 770g and the 80Wh variants at under 810g. Those are upper limits, not measured review weights. The heavier specification is the trade-off for a larger battery in the Extreme models.

Which Predator Atlas 8 G3 Extreme features match the standard G3?

The entire range shares the 8-inch, 1920 x 1200 touchscreen with 120Hz refresh, VRR, 500-nit peak brightness and 100% sRGB coverage. Acer’s current UK page identifies TMR sticks, whereas its original May press sheet called them carbon-film sticks. Check the sensor specification for the retail model you order.

Both configurations run Windows 11 Home with Xbox Mode and PredatorSense, include Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4, and offer two Thunderbolt 4 connections plus a UHS-II microSD reader. The controller-friendly Xbox interface and access to compatible PC launchers are not exclusive to the Extreme model.

Predator Atlas 8 G3 Extreme: who should buy it?

Choose the Predator Atlas 8 G3 Extreme if you want Acer’s larger battery and SSD as well as its higher-tier graphics. The 24GB/1TB model provides those upgrades at the announced £1,299.99 without the cost of the 32GB configuration.

Choose the standard G3 instead if you mainly play lighter games, stream games or want the same screen and controls for under £1,100. The 24GB standard version gives you more RAM than the £999.99 entry model but retains the B370 GPU, 512GB storage and 60Wh battery.

Is the 32GB Extreme worth £1,499.99?

Acer’s top Predator Atlas 8 G3 Extreme keeps Arc B390 graphics, 1TB storage and an 80Wh battery, then raises RAM from 24GB to 32GB. That makes memory the only announced hardware difference between the £1,299.99 and £1,499.99 Extreme models.

If you want the best graphics and battery package Acer offers, start your search with the 24GB G3 Extreme and check current UK stock. If you need 32GB for a particular PC workload, the higher tier offers that capacity without changing the overall handheld design.
