FFXIV MGC stands for Manderville Gold Saucer Credits, the currency earned from the Keybound Brawler typing attraction in Final Fantasy XIV. You earn it by participating in the FFVII Remake collaboration and spend it at the MGC Trader in Keybound Square (X:6.2, Y:6.0). It is separate from regular Manderville Gold Saucer Points (MGP).
Keybound Brawler began on 28 October 2026 and lasts until Patch 8.0. The MGC shop sells Tifa and Barret glamour, the Magitek Scorpion mount and other crossover prizes. Here’s the unlock route, how to collect credits and the exact amount to save for the most popular rewards.
How to earn FFXIV MGC in Keybound Brawler

To start earning credits, reach level 15, finish the envoy main-scenario quest for your starting city and complete It Could Happen to You. That quest is given by the Well-Heeled Youth in Ul’dah, Steps of Nald (X:9.6, Y:9.0) and opens the Gold Saucer.
At the Gold Saucer, accept Keyward Bound from the Catlike Mammet at X:5.4, Y:7.0. After finishing it, enter the four-player typing attraction. Enemies approach the arena with words above them; type the displayed text to attack them and work with the other participants to defend the stage.
Square Enix explicitly confirms that all participants earn MGC from playing. Repeat the activity to build your balance and return to the vendor once you have enough for your chosen items. The game uses a physical keyboard for text entry; gamepads and on-screen keyboards do not work for the typing part.
Where can you spend FFXIV MGC?
Go to Keybound Square at X:6.2, Y:6.0 and speak with the MGC Trader. This NPC has the exclusive FFVII Remake rewards, including the Avalanche Brawler and Avalanche Leader clothing sets, Magitek Scorpion Identification Key, Wind-up Barret minion, orchestrion rolls and an emote.
The MGC Trader isn’t the same as the regular Gold Saucer reward counter. Don’t look under standard MGP prizes for these items. The full Keybound Brawler reward list covers every item and its official price, so you can plan which purchase to make next.
FFXIV MGC prices: how much should you save?
| Item | MGC cost |
|---|---|
| Magitek Scorpion mount key | 430 |
| Full Tifa outfit | 1,570 |
| Full Barret outfit | 1,760 |
| Avalanche Gatling Gun accessory | 430 |
| Wind-up Barret minion | 260 |
| Magitype emote item | 260 |
| All shop listings once | 6,380 |
For FFXIV MGC, the cheapest major prize is the Magitek Scorpion Identification Key at 430 MGC. The full Tifa-inspired Avalanche Brawler outfit costs 1,570 MGC across five items, while the Barret-inspired Avalanche Leader outfit costs 1,760 MGC across six. The Gatling Gun fashion accessory is a separate 430 MGC purchase.
If you want everything on Square Enix’s official list, save a total of 6,380 MGC. You can spend smaller amounts as soon as you earn them, since the costume pieces are sold individually. For example, the Tifa Top alone is 430 MGC, while Barret’s Sunglasses are 190 MGC.
Can you use MGP instead of FFXIV MGC?
No. Regular MGP comes from Gold Saucer attractions such as Triple Triad and chocobo racing and is spent on ordinary Gold Saucer prizes. MGC comes from Keybound Brawler and buys the event’s FFVII rewards. Having thousands of MGP does not pay for a 430 MGC mount key.
These separate balances make the Keybound Brawler event different from a routine visit to the Gold Saucer. Our MGC vs MGP explanation compares the two currencies, while the existing Fall Guys reward guide covers that collaboration’s own prize currency.
When does the FFXIV MGC event currency expire?
The first Keybound Brawler event runs from 28 October 2026 until Patch 8.0. Square Enix says MGC can only be obtained and exchanged during the event period, so spend your credits while the FFVII collaboration shop is active. The attraction is planned to return at irregular intervals for special events.
The Magitype Magister title is a separate reward for 100 successful clears, not an MGC shop purchase. For now, the earning route is direct: unlock Keyward Bound, play the typing activity using a physical keyboard and visit the MGC Trader to spend your balance. If you’re collecting the mount, save 430 credits first. If you’re after both complete outfits, budget 3,330 MGC for the clothes alone.
