FFXIV MGC vs MGP is the difference between the new Keybound Brawler event currency and the Gold Saucer’s usual points. MGC stands for Manderville Gold Saucer Credits and buys FFVII Remake rewards. MGP means Manderville Gold Saucer Points and pays for the Gold Saucer’s regular prizes.
Your existing MGP balance won’t buy the Tifa outfit, Barret outfit or Magitek Scorpion mount. Those special items require MGC earned through the four-player typing attraction. Here’s where both currencies come from and which trader accepts each one.
FFXIV MGC vs MGP: what is the difference?

| Detail | MGC | MGP |
|---|---|---|
| Full name | Manderville Gold Saucer Credits | Manderville Gold Saucer Points |
| Main earning source | Keybound Brawler | Standard Gold Saucer attractions |
| Shop | MGC Trader, Keybound Square | Regular prize attendants |
| What it buys | FFVII Remake event prizes | Ordinary Gold Saucer rewards |
In the FFXIV MGC vs MGP comparison, the most important detail is the shop. MGC has its own trader in Keybound Square at X:6.2, Y:6.0. MGP is used at the regular Gold Saucer prize counters. The two balances don’t combine, even though both are earned within the same venue.
How to earn MGC
Reach level 15, finish It Could Happen to You, then accept Keyward Bound from the Catlike Mammet at X:5.4, Y:7.0 in the Gold Saucer. Complete the quest to unlock Keybound Brawler, where up to four players defeat enemies by typing the displayed words.
Square Enix confirms that all participants earn MGC. The activity requires a physical keyboard, since controller buttons and on-screen keyboards cannot enter the attack text. Return to the event to collect more credits for the costume pieces and mount.
FFXIV MGC vs MGP: where do regular MGP come from?
You earn MGP from regular Gold Saucer games, including Triple Triad, chocobo racing, minigames and other attractions. You can spend it with standard prize attendants on the venue’s ongoing selection, separate from the FFVII event rewards.
Square Enix also offers a limited initial gil-to-MGP exchange for visitors with fewer than 500 MGP. That is a feature of the standard Gold Saucer currency, not a way to buy Keybound Brawler prizes. MGC must be earned through the event.
Where to spend FFXIV MGC vs MGP currencies
MGC: go to the MGC Trader, Keybound Square X:6.2, Y:6.0. This shop sells the Magitek Scorpion Identification Key for 430 MGC, Tifa’s five-piece Avalanche Brawler outfit for 1,570 and Barret’s six-piece Avalanche Leader outfit for 1,760.
MGP: use the regular Manderville Gold Saucer prize attendants. Their usual items have ordinary MGP prices, and they don’t replace the event’s own MGC exchange. Our 20-item Keybound Brawler rewards guide lists the special prices.
Can you convert MGP to MGC?
No MGP-to-MGC exchange is offered. The event shop asks for Manderville Gold Saucer Credits, which are earned through Keybound Brawler. Saving 430 MGP from Triple Triad won’t pay for the 430 MGC mount key. You need to participate in the typing activity to build the correct currency balance.
For FFXIV MGC vs MGP, the answer for returning players with a large MGP balance: keep the old points for ordinary Gold Saucer purchases and collect event credits separately for the FFVII rewards.
Is MGC the same currency as Fall Guys MGF?
No. The Fall Guys collaboration uses MGF for its Blunderville prizes, while Keybound Brawler uses MGC. Both differ from regular MGP. If you’ve played previous Gold Saucer crossovers, check which event you’re in before assuming you already have the currency it needs.
The Fall Guys reward guide covers MGF. In the current FFXIV MGC vs MGP question, MGC is for FFVII rewards and MGP is the ordinary Gold Saucer points balance.
When does the FFXIV MGC vs MGP event end?
MGC is event-limited. Keybound Brawler launched on 28 October 2026 and this FFVII collaboration runs until Patch 8.0. Square Enix says MGC can only be earned and exchanged during that period. Regular MGP isn’t tied to that deadline.
The FFXIV MGC vs MGP rule to remember is simple: earn MGC from Keybound Brawler for the crossover’s prizes, and use MGP for normal Gold Saucer rewards. Our MGC earning guide covers the quest unlock and trader location in more detail.
