Football Manager 27 Game Pass gives eligible subscribers access to the PC/Mac Launch Preview, which is free to play until 3 November 2026 at 6 PM GMT. PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate both qualify, with continued PC preview access after the free window. The full PC game and separate FM27 Console edition release on 10 November.
Game Pass on a PC and Game Pass on an Xbox console aren’t interchangeable in this preview. The October trial is for PC/Mac, not an Xbox Series X|S build. Steam, Epic Games Store and the Microsoft Store also have free PC download routes that don’t require a Game Pass subscription.
When does Football Manager 27 Game Pass start?
The free PC/Mac preview is live until 6 p.m. GMT on November 3. Steam, Epic and the Microsoft Store offer the free-play route without a Game Pass subscription. If you choose the Xbox PC app, Sports Interactive specifies PC Game Pass or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for subscriber access.
You can start a full career and try every mode during the preview. If you’re not a subscriber, use the free Steam, Epic Games Store or Microsoft Store download where available. The Game Pass benefit is another way in, not a requirement to try those five days.
All Football Manager 27 Game Pass release dates
| UK date | What happens |
|---|---|
| October 29, 6pm GMT | Free PC/Mac Launch Preview begins |
| November 3, 6pm GMT | Free period ends; eligible paid preview continues |
| November 10 | Full digital PC/Mac, Xbox, PS5, Mobile and Touch release |
| November 20 | Physical PlayStation 5 release |
The full PC release and FM27 Console both arrive on November 10. FM27 Mobile is scheduled through Netflix, and FM27 Touch through Apple Arcade. The separate physical PS5 release follows on November 20.
The November 3 milestone is about continued PC early access once the five free days end. It’s available to eligible Game Pass members and qualifying digital pre-purchasers, so you can keep managing the same club rather than having to wait until the full launch on November 10.
Which Football Manager 27 Game Pass subscriptions qualify?
For the Football Manager 27 Game Pass preview, Sports Interactive specifically names PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. These are the supported plans for accessing the PC Launch Preview through the Xbox app. Other subscription tiers aren’t part of the official free-preview entitlement.
The Xbox Series X|S version is FM27 Console, scheduled for November 10 through eligible Game Pass plans. That is a different edition from the PC preview. Make sure the product tile says Football Manager 27 or Football Manager 27 Console before installing.
Can you use Football Manager 27 Game Pass on an Xbox console on October 29?
No. The October 29 free preview is a PC and Mac offer, not an Xbox console trial. Even with Ultimate, an Xbox Series X|S can’t run the PC preview as though it were FM27 Console.
If you use Ultimate on both PC and Xbox, you can play the PC preview on your supported computer now, then look for FM27 Console on Xbox on November 10. Our PC vs Console comparison explains why the editions have different features and controls.
Will Football Manager 27 Game Pass carry your preview save into November?
Yes. Careers started during the free PC preview carry into the continued preview and the full game, Sports Interactive confirms. You do not have to restart on November 3 just because the free offer ends. You do need a qualifying way to access the game after that point.
The save guarantee is for continuing an FM27 PC career into the PC launch. It doesn’t establish transfer of a PC career into the separate Console edition, or between unrelated storefront accounts. Keep your career saved and plan to continue through the appropriate PC version.
Does Football Manager 27 Game Pass cost extra after November 3?
After 3 November, continued PC access is covered by an eligible subscription or a qualifying digital pre-purchase. You don’t need to start a new career: the saved PC game carries into the paid Launch Preview and the full 10 November release. The free download on a storefront alone doesn’t give you paid access after the deadline.
The 10% pre-purchase offer is available through participating SEGA-approved digital retailers. You can use the free preview to try the new interface and your first career, then decide whether an eligible PC Game Pass subscription or a purchase is right for you after November 3.
Why isn’t Football Manager 27 Game Pass appearing yet?
In the Xbox PC app, sign in to the Microsoft account with your eligible subscription. Search for FM27, select Football Manager 27 Launch Preview under Add-ons, then install it. On Xbox.com, choose that same add-on, select Get and return to the PC app to finish installation. This isn’t a console download.
Our Football Manager 27 Launch Preview guide gives the download steps and save rules. The timeline is simple: free PC play through November 3 at 6 p.m., eligible PC early access afterward, and the full digital release on November 10.
