Adopt Me Mega Neon Pets: How to Make One From 16 Pets

Official Adopt Me pet aging needs chart by rarity

Adopt Me Mega Neon pets are made from four fully aged Neon pets of the same species. Each Neon requires four ordinary pets, so a Mega Neon starts with 16 matching ordinary pets. Once you have four fully aged Neons, use the Neon Cave to combine them into one Mega Neon with changing, rainbow-like glow colours.

Getting the four Neons isn’t the end of the process. You must raise all four Neon pets through their own growth stages before combining them again. Here’s how the second combination works, what can stop it and how to plan for the amount of ageing involved.

How to make Adopt Me Mega Neon pets

First, raise four matching ordinary pets to Full Grown and combine them into one Neon. Repeat that process until you have four Neons of the same species. Age each Neon fully, then visit the Neon Cave and select the four eligible Neons to make the Mega.

Making Adopt Me Mega Neon pets consumes the four Neon originals and leaves one Mega Neon version. You can’t combine four different Neon species or four Neons that are still ageing.

How many pets do Mega Neons take?

The total is 16 identical ordinary pets. If you already own two fully aged Neons, you need two more matching Neons rather than starting again with all sixteen ordinary copies. This is why it’s useful to count completed Neons separately from the ordinary pets in your Backpack.

For Adopt Me Mega Neon pets, the species must match at both combination stages. Rarity alone isn’t enough; for example, sixteen different Legendaries cannot be combined into a Mega.

How many Needs to raise sixteen pets?

An ordinary Common takes 25 Needs from Newborn to Full Grown. Sixteen Common pets therefore need 400 completed Needs before their four Neons are made. A Newborn Legendary needs 183, meaning sixteen Legendary pets take 2,928 Needs in their ordinary stages, plus the additional Neon ageing.

Age-Up Potions and Pet Pens can help with an Adopt Me Mega Neon pets project. Pet Pens award passive age XP to multiple pets, although you must visit a pet after it finishes a stage. If you have four matching pets ageing at once, keep checking them so the Pens don’t stop at a stage boundary.

Why can’t you make your Mega Neon?

The Adopt Me Mega Neon pets combination window only displays pets eligible to be used. If a Neon isn’t showing, check whether it has finished its own ageing. A freshly combined Neon won’t be fully aged simply because its four original pets were Full Grown.

Locked pets also can’t be used in Adopt Me Mega Neon pets combinations. That includes a pet locked in your Backpack or committed to a trade offer. Remove the restriction and return to the Neon Cave once all four are suitable.

Can an Untradeable pet become Mega Neon?

Yes. Uplift Games now allows Untradeable pets to be combined into Neon and Mega Neon versions, but the resulting pet remains Untradeable. You’ll see a warning before combining. The new glow effect doesn’t make the pet eligible for trades.

If you want to trade a Mega later, read that warning carefully. Adopt Me Mega Neon pets made from Untradeable pets retain the restriction even when the ordinary versions have been combined.

Can you change a Mega Neon’s glow colours?

Mega Neons cycle through illuminated colours. The Salon also offers Mega Neon Paints, which allow you to customise those colours after unlocking a paint. Changing the glow isn’t the same as creating the Mega, and painting an ordinary pet won’t give it a Mega Neon appearance.

The Salon is also where you can use Paint Sealers to preserve an applied purchased colour. Those appearance changes don’t alter a pet’s rarity, growth requirements or tradeable status.

What happens to Friendship Levels when making a Mega?

Completed Friendship Levels from the Neons used in the final combination are added together. Partly filled Friendship Bars are lost. If one Neon is close to another level, complete the remaining Needs first to earn its Age-Up Potion.

The Adopt Me Mega Neon pets combination requires fully aged Neons, not particular Friendship Levels. You can make a Mega without grinding Friendship after all four Neons are ready.
