Adopt Me Age-Up Potions: How to Earn Them and XP Values

Official Adopt Me pet aging needs chart by rarity

Adopt Me Age-Up Potions come from raising a Full Grown pet’s Friendship Level. Complete 30 Needs with a fully aged pet to earn one potion, then feed it to a different growing pet for 3,000 XP. The potion isn’t tradeable, and it can’t be used on eggs or pets already at their full growth stage.

It’s particularly useful when you’re preparing several pets for Neon or Mega Neon. You can keep playing with a Full Grown favourite, accumulate potion rewards and use them to move freshly hatched pets through their stages without repeating every Need.

How to get Adopt Me Age-Up Potions

Equip a Full Grown pet and complete its Needs as usual. The Friendship Bar appears once a pet is fully grown; each Friendship Level requires 30 completed Needs, regardless of rarity. Finishing a level awards one potion, and there is no cap on Friendship Levels.

The pet that earns Adopt Me Age-Up Potions doesn’t have to be the one that receives them. That means you can use a favourite Full Grown Common to produce potions for a newly hatched Legendary. Temporary events have also awarded Age-Up Potions, but Friendship is the repeatable method explained by Uplift Games.

How much XP does one potion give?

A regular Age-Up Potion gives 3,000 XP, or the equivalent of 30 Needs under the 100-XP-per-Need system. Feed it to a growing pet. It doesn’t change the pet’s rarity, give it Fly or Ride abilities or turn it into a Neon automatically.

If you’re using several Adopt Me Age-Up Potions, the feeding interface includes a quantity selector, so you can apply multiple potions in one go. Check the pet’s current stage first. A pet that is almost Full Grown may not need the entire amount you’ve saved.

How many Age-Up Potions does each rarity need?

For a pet starting at Newborn, Uplift Games’ updated ageing chart gives these whole-potion requirements. Pets that have already completed some Needs can require fewer.

Ultra Rare4
Legendary7

A Legendary needs 183 completed Needs to reach Full Grown, compared with 25 for a Common. That’s why Adopt Me Age-Up Potions are often saved for Legendaries. Each potion has the same 3,000-XP value, regardless of the rarity of the animal receiving it.

Can Pet Pens earn Age-Up Potions?

No. Pet Pens can grow pets passively, but they cannot earn Friendship Levels. Putting an already Full Grown pet in a Pen won’t fill its Friendship Bar or generate another potion.

You can put growing pets into the Pens while completing Needs with a Full Grown companion. Every house has four included Pen slots, and an optional fifth costs 295 Robux. Adopt Me Age-Up Potions still come from the Friendship Levels earned through active care.

What happens to Friendship Levels when you trade?

Trading a pet removes its Friendship progress, even if you get the pet back later. When pets are combined into a Neon or Mega Neon, their completed Friendship Levels are combined too, but any progress toward an unfinished level is lost.

If a pet is only a few Needs away from another completed Friendship Level, finish it before combining or trading. You’ll collect one more Age-Up Potion without losing that unfinished progress.

Should you save potions for Legendary pets?

Legendary pets take considerably longer to grow than Commons. Saving Adopt Me Age-Up Potions for four matching Legendaries can reduce the time spent raising a Neon, although finishing a lower-rarity pet with a potion can be useful too.

If you’re comparing how far you have left to go, the pet age stages chart lists the Needs for every rarity. Use it to decide where your Adopt Me Age-Up Potions will save the most care, based on the pets you already own rather than a generic rule.
