Adopt Me Neon Pets: Four-Pet Requirements and Neon Cave Fixes

Official Adopt Me pet aging needs chart by rarity

Adopt Me Neon pets are made by combining four matching, fully grown pets inside the Neon Cave. You must have all four copies and none can be locked. The four originals become one Neon with glowing accents. You don’t have to buy a Neon egg or spend Robux to make the combination.

The main work is raising all four pets. If one doesn’t show in the Cave’s selection window, that usually means it isn’t eligible yet. This guide explains the requirements, why locks matter and what happens to pets that can’t be traded.

How to make Adopt Me Neon pets

First collect four of the same species and raise each to Full Grown. Visit the Neon Cave, open the combination area and select the four pets you want to use. Confirm the combination to receive one Neon version. Four different pets of the same rarity don’t count; they must be identical species.

Making Adopt Me Neon pets uses up the original four animals, so keep a spare if you also want an ordinary version in your collection. The resulting pet will have illuminated accents and can be raised further for a Mega Neon project.

How much ageing do four pets require?

A Common pet takes 25 Needs from Newborn to Full Grown, so four Commons need 100 in total. For Legendaries the total is 183 per pet, or 732 Needs across four Newborn copies. Other rarities fall between those extremes.

To prepare Adopt Me Neon pets faster, use Age-Up Potions and Pet Pens for growth. The Pens allow several pets to gain progress while you’re occupied with other activities, but you must visit pets after they finish a stage.

Why won’t my pet appear in the Neon Cave?

The selection window was changed to show only suitable Full Grown pets. Check the missing pet’s age before trying again. If it’s still Post-Teen, complete the remaining Needs until it is actually Full Grown.

Locked pets also cannot be used when making Adopt Me Neon pets. If one of your Adopt Me Neon pets candidates has been locked in the Backpack or included in a Trading Hub offer, remove the restriction and try again. A missing candidate doesn’t necessarily mean it has disappeared from your inventory.

Can Untradeable pets become Neon?

Yes. Uplift Games updated the game to allow combining Untradeable pets. The new Neon remains Untradeable, and a warning appears when you attempt the combination. You can’t turn a pet tradeable just by making it Neon.

If you’re raising Adopt Me Neon pets mainly for trades, read the warning before confirming. The game lets you keep a glowing Untradeable pet for your own collection, but that doesn’t grant permission to transfer it to another player.

Do Friendship Levels transfer into a Neon?

Completed Friendship Levels from the four original pets are added together in the Neon version, while partial progress within an unfinished level is lost. You may want to complete the final few Needs for another level before combining a pet that’s nearly there.

You don’t need any Friendship Levels to make a Neon. The four matching pets only have to be fully aged, eligible for the combination and unlocked.

How do you make a Mega Neon afterwards?

A Mega Neon requires four fully aged Neon copies of the same pet, so you’ll ultimately need sixteen ordinary copies and the time to raise them. It’s a second combination, not a special option for one Neon.

For Adopt Me Neon pets projects, check the age stages chart for the remaining Needs and the Pet Pens guide for passive growth limits.
