DREADMOOR fishing and scavenging: Grappling Hook, Harpoon and Radio

DREADMOOR fishing and scavenging combine skill-based fishing with finding supplies in a flooded, dangerous world. You’ll catch fish, retrieve floating cargo, search abandoned buildings and prepare your trawler for trips through the Submerged Lands.

Dream Dock names the Grappling Hook Gun, Harpoon Launcher, lockpicking and the ship radio among the tools you use on these trips. They don’t confirm the exact locations of every rare fish or salvage container, so a useful guide needs to explain the systems without pretending to have a complete map.

Prepare your boat with enough fuel and usable gear, travel to a fishing or scavenging location, gather resources and return to process catches or trade. Progression comes from improving the equipment and vessel that let you venture farther into dangerous waters.

DREADMOOR fishing and scavenging feed into the same progression. The fish and cargo you collect support crafting and trading, while ship upgrades and survival tools help you reach new places. Mutated creatures linked to Sea-Blight can make routine trips hazardous.

How does fishing work?

Dream Dock confirms both peaceful and predatory fish. You can process the catch into materials, trade with locals and develop your fishing gear through the Fishing Skill Tree. Lures and tackle can be crafted at the workbench.

The current DREADMOOR fishing and scavenging announcements don’t supply a definitive list of the best species, bait recipes or all spawn locations. Check the in-game fish descriptions and current equipment rather than following numbers from a preview and assuming they’re the same in Early Access.

What is the Grappling Hook Gun for?

Dream Dock names the Grappling Hook Gun as a tool for pulling in floating cargo. That makes it particularly relevant when supplies are out on the water and can’t simply be picked up on foot.

The Harpoon Launcher is another named survival tool. The developer hasn’t released a full recipe, ammunition cost or guaranteed pickup location for each item. The DREADMOOR fishing and scavenging system includes both tools, but they shouldn’t be described as identical.

Where do you find salvage?

The places worth searching include cabins, cabinets, crates, abandoned containers and floating debris, all named by Dream Dock. Some containers can be lockpicked and certain locations involve environmental puzzles. Looking carefully around a settlement can therefore be as important as fishing off the side of your boat.

The ship’s radio may reveal new destinations as you explore. The DREADMOOR fishing and scavenging brief mentions listening for places to investigate, not following a published set of radio frequencies or coordinates. Those precise routes still need direct verification.

How do you prepare for dangerous expeditions?

The trawler requires fuel and may need its hull repaired or cleared of marine growth. Earlier test details mention isolated refuelling stations and gas cans. Longer trips also make fish-storage capacity and engine performance worth considering.

Our trawler upgrades guide explains the officially named engine, armour, storage and lantern improvements. It doesn’t invent prices for systems the developer has not fully documented.

Is everything available in the demo?

The October demo was intended as a sample of the core loop, not proof that every fish species, region, upgrade or puzzle from the full game is already accessible. The paid Early Access version is planned to start with one major region and the original story.

See the Early Access release guide for the November 9 launch. The DREADMOOR fishing and scavenging mechanics will develop during Early Access, so game-version details can matter when using older demo footage.

Start with the basics: bring usable gear, check your fuel and hull, and keep space for whatever you pull from the water. The DREADMOOR fishing and scavenging experience is built around those connected activities, not a single unbeatable fishing rod.
