DREADMOOR trawler upgrades include Hull Armour Mk I, two engine options, extra fish storage and a lantern mounted on the roof. Dream Dock confirmed these features in its official demo development notes for the flooded-world fishing game.

Your boat is the one piece of equipment you can’t afford to neglect.

The official demo introduced a Ship Upgrade Skill Tree with Hull Armour Mk I, two engine choices, an additional fish container and a roof lantern. Each is a real option shown by Dream Dock, but the precise unlock costs need to be checked in the current build.

Because the DREADMOOR trawler upgrades were revealed during demo development, the precise requirements could differ in Early Access. The main game is scheduled for 9 November. Check the live skill tree for the actual cost, unlock level and any changes to equipment availability.

What does Hull Armour Mk I do?

Hull Armour Mk I is about protecting the vessel, not repairing damage you’ve already taken. Dangerous trips will still require maintenance.

Permanent armour and day-to-day repairs are different tasks. Dream Dock also describes clearing barnacles or Sea-Blight polyps from the hull and fixing damage while you travel. Improving the boat does not automatically mean all future damage can be ignored.

Engines, speed and fish storage

Dream Dock names two engine choices with different performance. It hasn’t published a complete numerical speed and fuel-efficiency comparison in the broad announcements. If both are available in your build, the in-game stats should decide which suits your trips.

The extra fish-storage container serves another purpose: keeping more of your catches aboard. That makes the DREADMOOR trawler upgrades useful for different types of play, whether you’re travelling far away or returning with fish to trade and process.

The developer also describes finding fuel at isolated stations or through gas cans. Remember that increasing cargo room isn’t the same as adding fuel or improving the hull, so check each resource separately before taking a long route.

What does the roof lantern do?

A roof-mounted lantern is an explicitly named ship upgrade. Given the foggy waters and risky expeditions, light is useful, but the patch notes don’t specify an illumination radius, exact energy usage or guaranteed way to unlock the lamp.

The DREADMOOR trawler upgrades information confirms the lantern exists, but Dream Dock hasn’t supplied a verified merchant location or crafting cost for it.

How to keep the trawler repaired

The developer’s earlier focus-test materials describe maintaining your vessel through repairs, removing marine growth and keeping fuel supplies topped up. Those activities tie directly to the risks of exploring the Submerged Lands, but aren’t necessarily permanent nodes on the upgrade tree.

If the boat is damaged, inspect its condition before focusing on better cargo capacity. If fuel is low, consider where you can resupply before travelling deeper into flooded territory. These are practical preparations, not a fabricated button-by-button repair walkthrough.

Are these upgrades available on launch day?

The DREADMOOR trawler upgrades named here are developer-confirmed demo systems. Dream Dock promises a playable Early Access core loop with one world region, but has not stated that every earlier demo tier or recipe will be unchanged. Our release guide covers that launch scope.

For the trips where boat improvements matter, see the fishing and scavenging guide. The DREADMOOR trawler upgrades system is meaningful because you depend on your boat to haul catches, reach locations and survive the journey back.

Check the current Early Access skill tree before following an old demo upgrade path.
