2XKO Sett Guide: Grabs, Haymaker, Grit and How to Play

2XKO Sett became free to play on 27 October 2026, and he’s at his most dangerous up close. His grabs punish opponents who sit and block, while his heavy punches make them think twice about attacking first. If you like playing aggressively without learning dozens of complicated inputs, he’s worth trying.

You don’t need Credits or a paid bundle to select him. This 2XKO Sett guide covers his Manhandle grabs, charged Haymaker, Grit and The Showstopper, with beginner drills that help you use those moves in a real match.

How to play 2XKO Sett

The shortest way to understand 2XKO Sett is as a grappler and brawler in one character. He can make opponents afraid of standing still and blocking, because a command grab beats that defensive habit. But his strong punches also punish opponents who try to run or press buttons recklessly. His job is to get close enough for both threats to matter.

Start by learning the range of each grab and the recovery on your bigger attacks in Training. Forget the flashy combos at first. Move into throw range, try a grab, then see how the opponent responds when you use a normal attack instead. The opponent should have to guess, not simply react to the same option every time.

2XKO Sett Manhandle grabs and chain throws

Manhandle is central to 2XKO Sett. Riot’s Champion Spotlight shows a dash into a command grab, followed by opportunities to chain into further attacks. The ability to connect grabs is part of what separates him from a character whose throw only ends a short exchange.

Open the 2XKO Sett move list in Training and find Manhandle. Try the move from both sides of the stage. Try it against a standing opponent, then against one holding block. Pay attention to where Sett and the opponent land after the grab, because that spacing determines whether the follow-up is within reach.

If Manhandle misses, don’t immediately attempt another grab. A missed approach can leave Sett exposed. Mix in attacks that make an opponent hesitate, then threaten the grab again once they start respecting the pressure.

Haymaker, charged punches and Grit mode

2XKO Sett has a particularly dangerous empowered Haymaker. Riot’s balance lead described a version with a 25-frame start-up, full-screen reach and a wall-slump effect. Those properties apply to the empowered version, not every Haymaker. Fully charged Haymaker also has a crumpling, armour-breaking threat demonstrated in Riot’s spotlight.

The key is choosing the right moment for a charge. A big attack can punish an opponent who is predictable, but the start-up gives an alert player time to respond. Check its charge stages and how far the opponent is pushed after a hit in Training, rather than assuming you always get a free follow-up.

Sett also has Grit. When his health drops to roughly one-third, Grit activates and remains active for the rest of that round. Grit can help him turn a round around, but deliberately taking damage to activate it is a risky trade. Your defence still matters: surviving long enough to use an empowered option is better than losing the round while trying to force one.

Boss Rush, Facebreaker and The Showstopper

Riot’s Sett spotlight shows Boss Rush, his S2 Super Facebreaker, and The Showstopper. The Showstopper has three escalating slam levels, each with its own animation. Use the current in-game move list for exact commands and meter costs.

The safest way to learn them is one at a time. Test how far an attack reaches, whether the opponent is airborne or grounded afterwards, and whether you can recover in time to block if the move is defended. Once that makes sense, start combining an ordinary starter with a move you can reliably finish.

2XKO Sett training drills for beginners

2XKO Sett has advanced links for players who want them, but Riot designed him to be approachable. You can begin with Pulse Combo to learn when hits connect. Enable Pulse Combo at champion select, then use the light, medium or heavy attack buttons to practise the basic flow before working through his Combo Trials.

A useful training session is to spend a few minutes on movement, a few on Manhandle, then a few on Haymaker and your main anti-air. After that, practise a short strike sequence and a separate throw setup. The goal is to make your opponent respect both the grab and the punch.

When playing 2XKO Sett against a human opponent, watch how they respond. If they keep blocking, grab more. If they jump away from grabs, be ready with a grounded or anti-air answer. If they challenge every approach, take smaller steps and punish the missed attacks. That’s the heart of the 2XKO Sett game plan.

Best 2XKO Sett teammates and beginner tips

A partner who can cover space while Sett moves in is useful. Riot’s spotlight points to a ranged champion such as Jinx as one example, because a projectile threat can make it harder for the opposing team to keep Sett at arm’s length. Try that pairing as a starting point, then see whether a different assist suits your approach better.

2XKO Sett is suitable for newcomers who like heavy-hitting characters and clear choices. He is easier to understand than his long grab animations suggest, although advanced players can explore deeper links and creative tag routes. Since he and Samira are both free, try each in Training and see which style clicks before spending a whole evening learning routes.

Sett is also playable in The Climb with his own new Tales of 2XKO chapter and champion-specific augments. For a lower-pressure introduction, practise his grabs there before testing them against players online.
