2XKO Samira is now free to play following patch 1.3.3 on 27 October 2026, bringing a fighter whose Style Gauge rewards creative combos, varied special moves and aggressive pressure. Riot has confirmed her special cancels, the triple-down coin taunt and an empowered Stylish Ultimate.
Her kit is intentionally easier to pick up than it first appears, but the freedom to change combo routes creates room for skill. Her Style Gauge, special cancels and coin taunt give players several ways to change the flow of a fight. Here’s what those moves do and how to start practising them.
2XKO Samira release date and availability
Samira and Sett became available to every player for free on 27 October 2026 with patch 1.3.3. Samira’s Champion Spotlight arrived on 15 October and Sett’s on 22 October. Riot says both champions are free, so you do not have to buy them or earn Credits before trying their moves.
2XKO remains a playable tag-based fighting game on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox. Riot says servers will remain online after active development finishes. Samira joined the roster with the October 27 patch. You can pick her in the current version of the game.
How the 2XKO Samira Style Gauge works
Samira’s Style Gauge rewards different specials used during combos. Riot’s designers specifically wanted to discourage repeating one reliable sequence and encourage players to experiment with varied combo routes instead.
Building Style strengthens Samira’s attacks and unlocks an empowered Stylish Ultimate at S rank. It still costs meter: Riot tested a free version, but removed it after finding players could use too many supers in succession.
For practice, try landing a basic hit and finishing with different specials, then compare the Style Gauge’s response. Learn which attacks connect before adding showier sequences.

2XKO Samira special cancels and pressure
Riot confirms that Samira can cancel specials into other specials. Its developers highlight the S1 family as an important pressure tool. From an opponent’s block, 2XKO Samira can threaten S1 into another S1, an overhead, back S1 or a normal attack to restart pressure.
A charged back S2 is also described as creating advantage on block. The threat comes from mixing those follow-ups rather than repeating the same block string.
Try opening with one attack and alternating the follow-up. If an opponent keeps blocking one sequence, changing the timing or adding an overhead may make your offence harder to read. Check the results with the training dummy in the current version.
2XKO Samira coin taunt input
The coin taunt is one of her most recognisable tricks. Riot gives its input as down, down, down (triple-down). It’s a deliberately showy move that advanced players can work into creative combos.
The studio describes using the coin to pick up an opponent from the ground where a more straightforward off-the-ground hit would normally work. That doesn’t mean every ground-hit situation guarantees a coin conversion; the timing depends on the actual route.
Learn the triple-down input in isolation first. Then practise a short combo and see whether there’s time to insert the coin without losing the follow-up.

Does Samira work as an assist character?
Riot says 2XKO Samira is strongest when she’s on point, taking an active role in the fight. Her assist options are comparatively limited, a trade-off for her special cancels and strong offensive pressure.
That doesn’t mean she can’t be part of a team. It means the character is designed to lead the offence while a partner provides complementary tools. A partner with useful assists can give Samira more ways to start her offence and keep a combo going.
How to practise 2XKO Samira combos now
- Find her S1 moves, overhead and charged back S2 in training mode.
- Test each special separately so you know its range and timing.
- Land a basic hit and cancel into two different specials, watching the Style Gauge.
- Practise two block-string variations instead of repeating one route.
- Input down three times until the coin taunt activates consistently.
- Build enough Style for the empowered Ultimate and check the actual meter cost.
With patch 1.3.3 now live, extend those drills into full combos and test which special sequences work together.
Is Samira suitable for beginners?
Riot intentionally made 2XKO Samira approachable despite the technical appearance of her animations and combos. A beginner can learn a small set of attacks and experience the fun of building Style, while advanced players have more special-cancel routes to explore.
If you enjoy keeping opponents under pressure and choosing how a combo develops, she’s worth trying. If you mainly want your second fighter to offer powerful assists, Riot says that isn’t her greatest strength.
Samira is also a playable character in The Climb, which now includes a new Samira Tales chapter and champion-specific augments. Offline runs count for practice but not for chroma and avatar item quests. Use the online version if you are working towards those cosmetic unlocks.
