Zelda 40th Anniversary Switch 2 bundle is Nintendo’s special-edition console with Triforce motifs on the system, dock and Joy-Con 2 controllers. It went on sale in the UK on 29 October 2026. No Zelda game is included, and the console doesn’t have a user-replaceable battery.
That makes it a different proposition from the October Mario Kart World and Sports Resort packages. Those include digital games and 90 days of Nintendo Switch Online Individual membership. The Zelda edition is all about the hardware design, so you’ll need to buy the game you want separately.

The gold Triforce designs appear on the back of the console, its dock and the Joy-Con 2 controllers. Underneath the anniversary styling, this is a regular Nintendo Switch 2, with the same compatible games and core features. You’re not getting a faster or more powerful console.

Is Ocarina of Time included with the Zelda Switch 2 console?
No. The October anniversary console is hardware only. Nintendo doesn’t list an Ocarina of Time download, physical game card or other included Zelda software. The Switch 2 remake of Ocarina of Time launches on 5 November 2026, so you’ll have to purchase that separately if you want to play it.

Does the Zelda 40th Anniversary Switch 2 bundle have a replaceable battery?
No. Nintendo’s official holiday announcement expressly says the console in this edition does not contain a user-replaceable battery. The company is rolling out revised battery hardware separately across Europe. The October release date and special Zelda artwork don’t change the hardware inside this box.
Nintendo says revised Switch 2 models have the same functionality, with modest differences in battery capacity and weight. If being able to change the battery yourself is more important than the design, check for a confirmed revised console model instead of buying this edition on the assumption that it has one.

Are the Zelda 40th Anniversary Pro Controller and carrying case included?
No. The themed Pro Controller, carrying case and display stand are separate purchases. In the console box, you get the decorated Joy-Con 2 controllers and the standard grip. Don’t mistake a promotional photograph of the wider anniversary range for a complete box-contents list.
If you’d like a full Zelda-themed setup, compare the accessories individually. The included Joy-Con 2 controllers, dock, cables and power adapter are enough to set up the console without any of the separately sold anniversary accessories.

This is the right choice if you specifically want Zelda anniversary hardware. Just factor in the separate cost of Ocarina of Time or another game, and remember that the Zelda 40th Anniversary Switch 2 bundle doesn’t contain the newer user-replaceable battery.
