WoW Talebound Rewards: All Cosmetics and How to Get Them

WoW Talebound Rewards include the Shadowbound Storybook mount, Witch Hunter’s Shadow Attire ensemble and two Quillgrave-themed housing decorations. Blizzard has also explained how the cosmetic shop works: Bound Silver is earned through Tales of the Storyteller quests, achievements and progress.

You can preview Talebound on the PTR from 30 October to 1 November without an active subscription. That weekend test is separate from the completed mode planned for Echoes of the Worldcore, so the announced collectibles should not be treated as guaranteed permanent PTR unlocks.

Shadowbound Storybook mount

The standout WoW Talebound Rewards item is the Shadowbound Storybook mount. Blizzard describes players soaring into their next adventure on the pages of the book, making it the obvious headline collectible from the new mode.

Blizzard has shown the storybook mount, but not a confirmed Bound Silver cost or an individual achievement requirement for it. Check the item in the Talebound store once the full reward system is available.

Witch Hunter’s Shadow Attire

Ensemble: Witch Hunter’s Shadow Attire is the confirmed transmog set. Its darker aesthetic matches Talebound’s monster-hunting and horror-story theme rather than looking like ordinary Midnight raid armor.

The ensemble is a coordinated transmog collection, not a special weapon or buff for your Talebound class. Blizzard also says the store will sell individual appearances, giving collectors more choice than a single full set.

Quillgrave Storyteller’s Lectern

The Quillgrave Storyteller’s Lectern is one of the confirmed housing rewards. WoW Talebound Rewards therefore feed directly into Midnight’s Housing feature as well as mounts and transmog.

Blizzard’s preview identifies the Lectern as a housing decoration. It’s a way to bring the Storyteller’s village theme into your Midnight house rather than another item to upgrade your combat.

Quillgrave Talebound Shadowtome

The Quillgrave Talebound Shadowtome is another haunting housing decoration earned through the mode.

Together with the Lectern, it gives players a way to bring the Quillgrave storytelling theme back to their own home instead of leaving every Talebound visual locked inside the separate game mode.

Are there more rewards?

Blizzard has shown these four collectibles as examples, not published a complete final item list. The store will also sell individual appearance pieces and other cosmetics with Bound Silver.

The collection is meant to reward repeated trips through the stories, giving you mounts, appearances and home decorations to use outside the mode.

That means the Shadowbound Storybook, Witch Hunter set and two named housing pieces should not be treated as a complete final list. More cosmetics are expected when Talebound reaches testing and launch.

WoW Talebound Rewards: Bound Silver and Ducats

Bound Silver buys the cosmetics shown in the reward shop. Ducats, earned during tales, are converted into resources for upgrades inside Talebound. They are separate systems: buying a mount does not require spending the same progression resource you use to strengthen your next run.

Four Quillgrave specialists support that progression: the Arcanist provides potions and flasks, the Scribe offers talents, the Outfitter improves starting statistics, and the Antiquarian supplies useful passives. Our Bound Silver and Ducats guide explains which currency belongs to which purchase.

How do you earn Talebound rewards?

Blizzard links cosmetic progress to Tales of the Storyteller quests, achievements and completion progress. When a tale ends, you return to Quillgrave and receive Bound Silver alongside other rewards.

Blizzard has identified the purchase route rather than publishing a price for every reward. You can open the Talebound store from the character selection screen or Game Menu, or visit Nib in Quillgrave.

The October 30 to November 1 PTR demo is live with three tales, three classes and three difficulties. It is a limited test, not the full Echoes of the Worldcore release.

Do rewards work outside Talebound?

Yes. The announced Talebound cosmetics are intended for World of Warcraft outside the action RPG mode, including your mount collection, transmog appearances and home decorations.

Bound Silver is Warband-bound, according to Blizzard. That distinguishes it from Ducats, which are collected during tales and converted into progression resources. Bound Silver buys cosmetics; Ducats support your next run.

The mount can therefore join your normal collection, the transmog can be used with ordinary characters where eligible, and the housing decor is meant for Midnight Housing.

Do you need to clear every story?

The full Talebound release has four planned stories. The free demo includes Darkhaven, Greenthistle Wood and Greywake’s Expedition, while Grove of the Night Court comes later. Blizzard has not assigned the named cosmetics to individual bosses in these tales.

To work towards WoW Talebound Rewards, follow the confirmed earning routes: quests, achievements and progress in Tales of the Storyteller. The publisher says you receive Bound Silver on returning to Quillgrave after a tale.

Can you earn rewards solo?

WoW Talebound Rewards can be earned through a mode that is playable solo or with friends, so there is no current indication that the main cosmetic progression requires a fixed party.

The final achievement requirements could still include special challenges, but Blizzard has designed the core mode so solo players can participate in its stories and progression.

WoW Talebound Rewards in the PTR versus full release

The PTR demo is live from 30 October to 1 November 2026 with three tales, classes and difficulties. It isn’t a separate full launch or a guaranteed way to secure every cosmetic permanently.

For cosmetics, visit Nib in Quillgrave or open the Talebound store from character selection or the Game Menu. The official overview doesn’t give a complete item-by-item price table.

Blizzard has not said that earned currency, a PTR purchase or other trial progress carries over to live WoW. The reward system described in the official preview belongs to the mode’s larger release.

WoW Talebound Rewards already have a strong confirmed core: a flying storybook mount, a full Witch Hunter transmog look and horror-themed Housing decor. The remaining question is not whether Talebound rewards the wider account, but exactly how many runs and story milestones Blizzard will ask players to complete for each collectible.
