WARDOGS Controller Settings are still being shaped by Early Access because BULKHEAD officially describes current PC gamepad support as limited. Controllers work, but the implementation is not yet something the developer presents as a finished console-style experience.
That makes community settings useful as a starting point rather than an official competitive preset. WARDOGS Controller Settings should first solve stick drift and basic aiming, then separate infantry sensitivity from vehicles instead of trying to make one number control everything.

WARDOGS Controller Settings: start with moderate sensitivity
A well-received community starting point uses roughly 5.3 horizontal sensitivity, 4.9 vertical and a 0.68 ADS multiplier. Those values are not official and should not be copied blindly, but they give a sensible middle ground for initial testing.
Lower the base sensitivity if small corrections feel impossible; raise it only if normal turning requires too much stick movement. WARDOGS Controller Settings should feel predictable before they feel fast.
Tune the deadzone to your actual controller
Use the smallest centre deadzone that stops unwanted movement. One community preset uses around 2% on the look stick and 5% on movement, but stick wear varies enough that somebody else’s number can be wrong for your hardware.
Stand still, release the stick and watch for drift. If the camera moves, increase the centre deadzone gradually until it stops rather than masking the problem with lower sensitivity.
Decide whether acceleration helps or hurts
Community players are split on acceleration. Some prefer a standard acceleration curve with a modest multiplier because it allows slow centre movement and faster turning near the edge; others switch it off because they want a simpler response.
Try both before changing five other values. WARDOGS Controller Settings become impossible to diagnose when sensitivity, acceleration and deadzone are all moving at once.
Keep ADS slower than hip-fire if long-range aim feels twitchy
ADS should handle fine corrections without forcing the normal look speed to become painfully slow. A lower ADS multiplier can make marksman and rifle play easier while leaving enough hip-fire speed for turning in buildings.
Do not compensate for an overfast ADS value by adding a huge deadzone. Fix the sensitivity first, then use deadzone only for unwanted input.
Use separate vehicle multipliers
Ground and air vehicles can feel wild if they inherit an aggressive infantry setup. Community starting points around 0.50 for ground and air multipliers are reasonable while learning, then can be raised as steering becomes predictable.
WARDOGS Controller Settings for helicopters deserve their own pass because flight assists and vehicle response affect the feel more than infantry sensitivity alone.
Steam Input can help with awkward binds
Native controller remapping is still one of the rougher parts of the current PC build, which is why some players use Steam Input for specific changes. It can solve a layout problem, but it also adds another layer that can conflict with in-game prompts.
Test native controls first, then change one Steam Input bind at a time so you know which layer caused a new problem.
Save a working baseline before experimenting
Once WARDOGS Controller Settings feel comfortable, take a screenshot before changing them again. Early Access patches, Steam Input profiles or one bad aiming session can make it tempting to rebuild everything unnecessarily.
A saved baseline lets you experiment with vehicle or ADS values while keeping a known-good infantry setup to return to.
WARDOGS Controller Settings for close and long-range aim
WARDOGS Controller Settings should keep hip-fire turning quick enough for buildings while letting ADS handle the smaller corrections needed across roads and hills. If both feel too fast, lower the relevant sensitivity instead of hiding the problem behind a huge deadzone.
WARDOGS Controller Settings are easier to tune when each value has one job: deadzone fixes unwanted movement, base sensitivity controls turning, ADS controls precision and vehicle multipliers handle driving or flight.
After any major patch, test the saved baseline before changing it. A small input update can make an old sensitivity feel different even when the displayed numbers have not moved.
