Simblreen CC Installation usually takes only a few minutes once you know which files belong in the Mods folder. EA says ordinary custom content on PC and Mac should be extracted from compressed downloads, placed in the The Sims 4 Mods folder, enabled in Game Options, and then loaded after a game restart.
The important part of Simblreen CC Installation is recognising that a Simblreen download can contain more than one type of file. Package files belong in Mods, while downloaded Sims and lots may include Tray files that need a different folder. Always read the creator’s instructions before moving everything into one place.
Simblreen CC Installation: extract the download first

Start Simblreen CC Installation by opening the file you received and checking its format. EA says .zip and .rar downloads need to be extracted before installation. Do not leave a compressed archive sitting in the Mods folder and expect The Sims 4 to read the custom content inside it.
Put package files in the Mods folder
For normal Simblreen CC Installation, place .package files inside Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Mods. EA identifies that user folder as the location for custom content on PC and Mac. You can organise package files into subfolders, but do not move them into the game’s installation directory.
Use the organiser rules as the baseline, then read the individual creator post before acting. Simblreen is intentionally flexible, so the creator’s current schedule and contact instructions are the final word for that particular porch.
Enable Custom Content and Mods
Simblreen CC Installation is not complete until the game is allowed to load custom files. Open The Sims 4, go to Game Options > Other, enable Custom Content and Mods, apply the setting, close the game, and relaunch it. EA says the restart is required before newly enabled content appears.
Separate Tray files from custom content
Some Simblreen CC Installation downloads include a Sim, room or lot as well as CC. Files such as .trayitem, .bpi, .hhi, .sgi and .householdbinary are Tray data rather than ordinary package CC. Put those files in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Tray while keeping any included .package files in Mods.
Check pack and mesh requirements
A technically correct Simblreen CC Installation can still look wrong if the creator lists a required expansion, game pack, kit or separate mesh. Read the original gift post before troubleshooting the game. If a hair, outfit or object depends on another creator’s base mesh, you need that dependency as well.
Keep the original download and creator page until you have tested everything in game. That gives you a clean copy to return to if a file is moved to the wrong folder, a dependency is missing, or the creator publishes an updated version later.
Be careful after a Sims 4 update
EA can disable custom content after game updates, so Simblreen CC Installation may appear to stop working even when the files are still present. EA recommends testing the game after updates, checking creators for compatibility, then re-enabling Custom Content and Mods once you are comfortable the files are safe to use.
Mods and CC are not available on console
Simblreen CC Installation applies to PC and Mac. EA states that Mods and Custom Content cannot be installed on PlayStation or Xbox. Console players can still take part in Simblreen through non-download gifts, screenshots, stories and other community activities, but third-party package files will not load in the console game.
Simblreen CC Installation is easiest when you separate package files from Tray files before copying anything. Extract the download, follow the creator’s requirements, enable custom content, restart The Sims 4, and keep the original download somewhere safe until you have confirmed the treat works.
Before making large changes to the Mods or Tray folders, copy the important Sims 4 user folders somewhere safe. A backup is especially useful after an event where you may have installed many new files from different creators in a short period.
Install a few new treats at a time when possible. If twenty new downloads go into the game at once and something breaks, you have twenty possible causes. Smaller batches make it much easier to identify which file, mesh or dependency needs attention.
