Pokémon GO Wild Area 2026 Tickets include an optional Global ticket costing US$11.99, or the equivalent local price. Global runs on 14 and 15 November, from 10:00am to 6:00pm local time. The paid ticket adds Steel-or-Dragon Special Research, extra Raid Passes and Max Particles, and Incense encounters with Latias and Latios.

You can still take part without paying. The ticket is for the extra research and bonuses, not permission to enter the new Gigantamax Duraludon battles or explore the event’s wild spawns. Sendai and Mexico City are separate in-person events with their own tickets.

The official Global price is US$11.99, or the equivalent price tier in your local currency. The Global event is available worldwide, so you don’t need to travel to one of the host cities. Check the in-game shop or official web store for the purchase option and your UK price.

The in-person weekends take place in Sendai and Mexico City on 6–8 November, followed by Global on 14–15 November. A city ticket doesn’t automatically give you the Global ticket’s research; the official page says players at an in-person event can also obtain the Global research if they purchase the Global ticket.

Everyone can find event-themed Pokémon, try for GO Safari Balls by spinning stops or Gyms, take on the day’s Max Battles and complete featured Field Research. Ticket holders get extra catch Candy, longer Incense, extra 10 km Egg chances, more Snapshot surprises and hourly Supply Balloons with Safari Balls.

Pokémon GO Wild Area 2026 Tickets: Steel vs Dragon Special Research

The ticket’s Special Research begins on 14 November and splits into Steel expert and Dragon expert paths, each with its own medal. You can choose whichever path interests you; the publisher hasn’t supplied the full task-by-task sequence in its announcement, so don’t mistake a pre-event checklist for the actual research.

The Special Research also includes an encounter with Gigantamax Duraludon bearing an event Special Background. This is separate from battling the six-star Gigantamax boss at Power Spots, which all players can attempt during event hours.

Pokémon GO Wild Area 2026 Tickets: extra Incense encounters

Regular Incense, excluding Daily Adventure Incense, can attract mighty Latias and Latios for ticket holders. Unown D, I, L and W are also included as ticket-only Incense possibilities. Mighty Pokémon are difficult catches, so have GO Safari Balls ready when using Incense.

The ticket gives an increased chance of Shiny encounters, not a guarantee. Niantic marks the featured Pokémon as potentially Shiny where eligible. Buy the ticket for the combined research and bonuses rather than expecting a specific Shiny from the price alone.

Pokémon GO Wild Area 2026 Tickets: other useful paid extras

Paid players get a 3,200 daily Max Particle limit compared with 1,600 free, up to six free Raid Passes per event day, two-hour Lures, twice the catch Candy and increased 10 km Egg chances. Ticket holders also receive up to six Special Trades each day and half Stardust trade cost, with those trade bonuses running throughout the calendar day.

The Global ticket doesn’t change which day the Legendary Dynamax bosses appear: Dialga is Saturday, Palkia is Sunday, and Gigantamax Duraludon is on both days. For both Legendaries, plan to play both dates regardless of ticket choice.

Pokémon GO Wild Area 2026 Tickets: is Global worth it?

The free event already has the big headline gameplay: Max Battles, event spawns, Safari Balls and ordinary raid participation. The ticket makes more sense if you’ll play for several hours, use the extra Raid Passes and Incense, and want the Steel or Dragon research medal and Duraludon background encounter.

If you mostly want the wild encounters, GO Safari Balls and headline Max Battles, free participation already covers those. The ticket is better value when you’ll use its extra Raid Passes, Incense and Special Research. Complete your chosen event activities before 6:00pm on Sunday.
