Pokémon GO Shiny Greavard makes its debut on Sunday, November 1, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. local time, when Halloween Part II begins. You can hunt for it in the wild, through event Field Research and in encounters from the Halloween GO Pass. Those are the three methods confirmed in Pokémon GO’s official announcement.
The event ends Thursday, November 5, at 8:00 p.m. local time. Niantic has not published boosted Shiny odds, a guaranteed encounter or a task-to-reward table ahead of launch. Your best preparation is to clear Pokémon storage, stock Poké Balls and know which activities offer legitimate Greavard encounters.
Pokémon GO Shiny Greavard release date and event hours
Pokémon GO Shiny Greavard is available for the first time from November 1 at 10:00 a.m. local time, not at the October 27 start of Halloween Part I. The Halloween Part II guide lists the other changes taking place that day, including Mega Sableye’s Super Max unlock.
The announced Halloween Part II event ends November 5 at 8:00 p.m. local time. The event’s boosted availability ends November 5, although the Shiny is introduced to the game permanently. Future encounter opportunities depend on later event pools.

Where to get Pokémon GO Shiny Greavard
| Method | Confirmed access | Best use |
|---|---|---|
| Wild encounters | Greavard appears during Halloween Part II | Check wild Greavard while following your normal walking route |
| Event Field Research | Some tasks award Greavard encounters | Spin PokéStops, complete eligible tasks and check their live rewards |
| Halloween GO Pass | Pass tasks and rewards can include Greavard encounters | Earn GO Points and claim the correct encounter rewards |
Wild encounters offer the simplest repeated chance for Pokémon GO Shiny Greavard. Find Greavard in the wild and open the encounter to check its colour. You can do this alongside other Halloween wild Pokémon. An event spawn is a chance to encounter the Shiny, not a Shiny guarantee.
Field Research and GO Pass encounters
Field Research and GO Pass rewards give you extra Greavard checks alongside wild spawns. The exact Field Research wording and GO Pass reward rank are not confirmed as of October 25, so check the encounter rewards when the event opens. Keep one Field Research slot free if you want to look for a Greavard reward task when its exact wording has been confirmed in the live event.
The Halloween GO Pass guide covers confirmed progression rules. You automatically receive the free pass on October 27. GO Points and ranks can be earned until November 5 at 8:00 p.m.; unlocked rewards must be claimed by November 7 at 8:00 p.m. local time. Deluxe is optional, and a paid upgrade is not stated as a requirement to encounter Greavard.
Rank 10 unlocks double catch Candy on the free track, while Rank 20 unlocks double catch Stardust. Deluxe raises each to triple. These make ordinary catching more rewarding but do not increase the published chance of finding Pokémon GO Shiny Greavard.
Can Greavard be Shiny in raids or eggs?
Pokémon GO has not announced Greavard as a Halloween Part II raid boss. The named one-star raids are costumed Pikachu and Sinistea. No event Greavard egg pool is identified either. For Pokémon GO Shiny Greavard, rely on the wild, research or GO Pass routes unless a further official update adds one.
The Halloween costume guide covers Sinistea and the other new outfits. Greavard is a regular species receiving its Shiny debut, not a special 2026 costume.

How to evolve Shiny Greavard into Shiny Houndstone
Once you’ve caught Pokémon GO Shiny Greavard, evolving it takes 50 Greavard Candy. Open that Pokémon’s details and select Evolve when you have enough Candy. The Shiny colouring carries over to its evolution, Houndstone. You can read our Greavard guide for stats, move options and the complete evolution details.
Consider keeping a second Greavard if you collect both stages of a Shiny evolution line. You do not need to evolve immediately, and catching a Shiny does not promise better IVs than a normal Greavard.
Best Halloween hunting plan
For Pokémon GO Shiny Greavard, check wild spawns first, then spin PokéStops along your route for event research. Clear completed tasks to make room for new ones and collect your GO Pass rewards during regular play. Once Part II begins on November 1, confirm the live task-to-encounter mapping before using a Field Research slot purely for Greavard.
If you’re also working on Mega Sableye, remember that its new Charged Attack and Mega Energy upgrade are unrelated to Greavard’s Shiny odds. Spend your resources on the collection method you actually need.
