Pokémon GO Halloween GO Points are what move you through the Halloween 2026 GO Pass. Complete Pass Tasks to earn points and unlock rewards, with the two biggest milestone bonuses arriving at Rank 10 for catch Candy and Rank 20 for catch Stardust. The free pass opens on October 27 at 10am local time and closes for progression on November 5 at 8pm.
Getting ahead early means more of your Halloween catches benefit from those bonuses. The official event announcement doesn’t list every Pass Task or its GO Point reward yet, so it’s worth planning around the tasks you can actually see in the game. Prioritise those that fit naturally alongside the catches and raids you’re already doing.
How to earn Pokémon GO Halloween GO Points
When the event begins, open the GO Pass: Halloween 2026 screen and find its Pass Tasks. Finishing those tasks earns GO Points, which increase your rank on the reward track. You receive the free pass automatically, so you can begin making progress without purchasing Deluxe. If you upgrade later, rewards attached to previously completed ranks remain available to claim on the paid track.
You’ll want to read the actual point amount and objective for each task in-game. The official announcement says there will also be additional bonus tasks during the event, but hasn’t named their objectives or payouts. The exact Pokémon GO Halloween GO Points payout will depend on each live task, so compare the rewards before committing time or items.

The fastest way to earn Pokémon GO Halloween GO Points
Check the live Pass Tasks and compare them on three things: how many points it awards, how long it will take and what it costs. If a task involves catching Pokémon, finish it while hunting the event’s wild spawns. If your live tasks require walking, choose a route that lets you visit several spawn points. Only spend a Raid Pass on a raid task when you also want its encounter or other rewards.
The live Pokémon GO Halloween GO Points daily tasks include Catch 6 Ghost-type Pokémon and Catch 13 Pokémon, each worth 50 GO Points. At 100 GO Points per rank, finishing both gives one ordinary rank, excluding any extra bonus tasks.
| If a live Pass Task requires | What to pair it with | Check before starting |
|---|---|---|
| Catch Pokémon | Featured wild spawns or costume hunting | Species restrictions and points reward |
| Hatch Eggs | Walking between spawn areas | Incubator requirements and distance left |
| Complete raids | A raid boss or costume you actually want | Raid Pass costs and group requirements |
| Bonus tasks | Your normal catching and exploration | Whether they’re available and when they expire |
For Pokémon GO Halloween GO Points, the live reward screen takes priority over any general GO Pass routine. The value of a raid objective, for example, depends on its actual point payout and whether you would have raided anyway.
Reach Rank 10 before farming Halloween Candy
Rank 10 unlocks 2× Candy from catching Pokémon on the free track or 3× catch Candy with Deluxe. Since the multiplier applies to catches made after it is active, the benefit is greater if you reach Rank 10 before spending hours catching costumed Zubat, Piplup and other event Pokémon.
Pokémon GO Halloween GO Points don’t increase the chance of a costume or Shiny encounter. They get you to the Candy milestone. Once it’s unlocked, head into the wild spawn pool described in our Halloween spawns guide, or catch Sinistea after its featured one-star raids if you need its Candy.
Rank 20 unlocks the Stardust bonus
At Rank 20, the free pass increases Stardust from catches to 2×; Deluxe players get 3×. A catch that ordinarily awards 100 Stardust would therefore award 200 or 300 under those respective bonuses before other modifiers. It’s a catch multiplier, not an automatic bonus to every Stardust source.
If you’re accumulating Pokémon GO Halloween GO Points mainly to build Stardust, this is the milestone to watch. Reaching it before a busy catching session has more value than reaching it just before progression ends. You can find the confirmed rank milestones and reward categories in our Halloween GO Pass guide.

Does GO Pass Deluxe earn Pokémon GO Halloween GO Points faster?
The official announcement describes Deluxe as offering faster progression, but it hasn’t released the Halloween task-by-task point chart or an exact points-per-hour comparison. The standard Deluxe upgrade costs US$7.99 or an equivalent local tier. Deluxe +10 Ranks costs US$9.99 and immediately grants enough points to reach Rank 11.
The +10 Ranks bundle is a head start, not an alternative requirement for the free pass. You can buy either upgrade later and still claim paid rewards for ranks you previously completed. Before paying to obtain Pokémon GO Halloween GO Points sooner, compare your playing time with the extras in our GO Pass Deluxe review and Web Store bundle comparison.
Can you earn points during Halloween Part II?
Yes. The GO Pass continues across both event phases. Part I runs October 27–November 1, and Part II runs November 1–5. Your Halloween GO Pass progression doesn’t restart when the wild Pokémon lineup changes. That also means you can continue earning Pokémon GO Halloween GO Points while hunting Shiny Greavard or the returning costumed Rowlet.
If your time is limited, look at the tasks available in both phases rather than rushing to complete everything on October 27. Our Halloween Part I guide and Part II guide explain which Pokémon to prioritise on either side of the changeover.
Daily GO Point limits and bonus tasks
Niantic hasn’t specified the complete list of bonus task rewards or a universal daily cap. For Pokémon GO Halloween GO Points, refer to the live pass screen; the two confirmed daily objectives give 50 points each.
If a daily limit appears on your GO Pass, use the time for Halloween encounters until more tasks become available. If the game shows that no further Pokémon GO Halloween GO Points can be earned from a certain set of tasks that day, focus on other event activities instead of repeatedly performing the same action expecting more points.
When do Pokémon GO Halloween GO Points expire?
The progression window ends on Thursday, November 5, at 8pm local time. Rewards you’ve already unlocked remain claimable until Saturday, November 7, at 8pm local time. Those dates are all GMT in the UK, because British clocks go back on October 25.
The November 7 deadline is for collecting rewards already unlocked, not for earning more Pokémon GO Halloween GO Points. If you’re a few ranks short on November 5, complete the remaining tasks before 8pm; then claim all rewards before the November 7 deadline. Checking the pass screen ahead of each cutoff is much safer than assuming the two dates mean the same thing.
Why aren’t my GO Points increasing?
If your points haven’t changed, check the exact task shown in the Halloween pass. Merely encountering a Pokémon doesn’t complete a task that says to catch it, for example. Check whether a reward needs claiming, and make sure you’re viewing the active Halloween GO Pass rather than another Research screen.
If a visibly completed task does not add Pokémon GO Halloween GO Points, confirm it was claimed, restart the app and check again. If the issue persists, save a screenshot of the task and the rank screen and contact in-game support.
