Pokémon GO Sandile Hatch Day Timed Research: Free vs Paid Ticket

Pokémon GO Sandile Hatch Day Timed Research has two versions on Saturday, October 17: free research for an Incubator and XP, and a paid US$1.99 ticket with two Super Incubators, a Star Piece and extra rewards. Both research tracks must be finished and claimed before 5 PM local time today.

Sandile Hatch Day started at 11 AM local time, and the tasks are now live. The free quest is short, while the paid one asks you to walk and collect Stardust. Here is exactly what is needed before the deadline and what the ticket adds.

Use our interactive Pokémon GO trackers to record shinies, regional Pokémon, costumes, patterns and event collections.

Pokémon GO Sandile Hatch Day Timed Research: Free tasks

The free Pokémon GO Sandile Hatch Day Timed Research only asks you to Hatch an Egg. You receive XP for the task and an Incubator for completing the single-step research. The game’s official announcement confirms those reward types, although independent live trackers disagree on the precise amount of task XP, so check the number displayed in your game.

Free task Reward
Hatch an Egg XP
Complete the research 1 Incubator

Open your Events or Today research after the Egg hatches, then claim both rewards. Simply finishing a task before 5 PM isn’t enough if you leave the reward unclaimed.

Pokémon GO Sandile Hatch Day Timed Research: Paid tasks and rewards

The $1.99 paid Pokémon GO Sandile Hatch Day Timed Research has three tasks. Live October 17 research listings confirm the requirements and rewards below. The ticket is optional, and its one-quarter Egg Hatch Distance bonus applies only during Hatch Day.

Premium task Reward
Explore 1 km 1 Star Piece
Earn 2,000 Stardust 1 Super Incubator
Earn 4,000 Stardust 5,000 XP
Completion rewards 1 more Super Incubator, 5,000 Stardust, 5,000 XP

You receive two Super Incubators altogether, not two for each task. You don’t need a Shiny Sandile to finish the premium research; completing its walking and Stardust tasks is enough.

Does the paid ticket improve Shiny Sandile odds?

No additional Shiny-rate bonus has been announced for the paid Pokémon GO Sandile Hatch Day Timed Research. All players get increased Shiny Sandile hatch odds, double hatch Candy, half Egg Hatch Distance and improved odds of receiving 2 km Eggs when spinning PokéStops. Sandile hatches more often from those 2 km Eggs during the event.

Ticket holders get one-quarter Hatch Distance, making additional hatches possible with the same amount of walking. That can give you more opportunities to check for Shiny Sandile, but it doesn’t guarantee a Shiny. Pokémon GO also says the hatch bonuses don’t stack with other event or GO Pass modifiers.

When does Sandile Hatch Day Timed Research end?

5 PM local time on October 17, 2026. Both the free and paid Pokémon GO Sandile Hatch Day Timed Research expire then. The ticket doesn’t allow you to finish research tomorrow, even if you’ve already purchased it. Claim the rewards before the deadline or you could lose them.

If you still have unhatched Eggs when the event ends, they can continue incubating. The important distinction is that the event research itself expires, so return to your research screen to claim completed tasks while the timer is active.

Why isn’t the research showing?

First check your device’s local time. The event runs from 11 AM until 5 PM on Saturday. Check the Events or Today view for the free Pokémon GO Sandile Hatch Day Timed Research. Paid research won’t appear unless you bought the separate ticket for your account, and ticket availability can vary by region.

If you have the ticket but cannot find it, close and reopen Pokémon GO and check your purchase receipt. If it is past 5 PM local time, the research has expired and restarting the app will not recover the missed task rewards.

Is the paid research worth buying?

If you plan to walk and hatch Eggs for the rest of the event, the reduced hatch distance and the two Super Incubators may be useful. If you’re only going to play for a few minutes, you can still complete the free Pokémon GO Sandile Hatch Day Timed Research and enjoy the standard event bonuses. There is no requirement to buy premium research to find Shiny Sandile.
