Pokémon GO Mega Clefable Super Max will be available once Mega Clefable debuts on November 28, 2026. You can’t unlock it straight away: your Clefable must first reach Max Mega Level, the third level, and then you’ll have to spend more Clefable Mega Energy to reach Super Max.
You don’t need to go that far to try its new move, though. Moonblast+ is available while Mega Clefable is Mega Evolved, even before Super Max. It starts at 80 power in Trainer Battles and 160 in raids. Here are the actual upgrade requirements and why the Global Challenge matters.
How to unlock Pokémon GO Mega Clefable Super Max
The first step is November 28’s Clefable Super Mega Raid Day, from 2 PM to 5 PM local time. A Clefable caught after one of these raids will already have Mega Level 1 unlocked. That’s a useful head start, but it isn’t Max or Super Max.
From there, keep raising that Clefable’s Mega Level until it reaches Max. Repeated Mega Evolutions help with the earlier levels. Reaching Pokémon GO Mega Clefable Super Max then requires spending additional Clefable Mega Energy, rather than simply waiting for more Mega Evolutions.
Clefable Mega Energy comes from the relevant Mega Raid battles, with Super Mega Raids offering more Mega Energy than standard Mega Raids. The November announcement doesn’t list an exact Super Max energy cost for Clefable, so a supposed fixed total isn’t something we can verify before the form is released. Moonblast+ is not locked behind Super Max. Mega Clefable gains the extra Charged Attack whenever it’s Mega Evolved, including at lower Mega Levels. Pokémon GO’s Mega Finale rules say these special attacks can be used in Trainer Battles, but not currently when attacking Gym defenders.
For Trainer Battles, the published starting value is 80 power, with a chance to lower the opponent’s Attack by one stage. In raids it’s 160 power. Both values can improve with Mega Level, so they’re starting figures rather than fixed final damage in every battle.
What changes at Super Max?
At Super Max, Mega Clefable will get a bigger CP boost, better Catch Candy, Candy XL chance and Catch XP bonuses for Pokémon sharing its type, plus a shorter 24-hour rest period before another free Mega Evolution. Those are lasting Mega Level benefits, not the temporary Global Challenge buffs.
A Clefable caught on Raid Day starts at Mega Level 1. It still needs the intervening levels before you can spend energy on Super Max, so don’t expect every catch to have those higher bonuses straight away.
Does the Pokémon GO Mega Clefable Super Max Global Challenge add extra power?
The global raid challenge runs from November 27 at 5 PM PST through November 28 at 8 PM PST. If Trainers complete enough tiers, Mega Clefable at Mega Level 1 or higher will get extra Moonblast+ base power, while Super Max Clefable can receive a further CP boost. The precise amounts depend on the challenge results.
Those temporary rewards run from November 30 at 8 PM GMT to December 13 at 8 PM GMT. The added Moonblast+ challenge power won’t apply in GO Battle League, which is different from the basic Trainer Battle move effect. Our Global Challenge guide has the complete UK and worldwide timings.
Where to earn Clefable Mega Energy
You can start collecting Clefable Mega Energy during the November 28 Super Mega Raids. These are group battles with shields, and Pokémon GO recommends at least eight Trainers with Mega-Evolved Pokémon. For local raids, you can use Link Charges or a Premium Battle Pass. Remote Super Mega Raids need both a Remote Raid Pass and Link Charges.

Is Pokémon GO Mega Clefable Super Max available now?
As of November 6, Pokémon GO Mega Clefable Super Max isn’t available yet. Mega Clefable debuts November 28, so for now the useful preparation is planning your raids and Mega Energy collection. The Mega Evolutions list keeps Clefable among the upcoming forms until it actually launches.
