March is packed. We’ve got a brand-new Season, special research, multiple themed events, Mega Raids, GO Pass bonuses, shiny updates and rotating spotlight hours, and the highly anticipated return of Mewtwo.
Here’s everything happening this month in Pokémon GO.
Pokémon GO Mewtwo Returns in March 2026
Niantic has confirmed that Mewtwo will return to Pokémon GO raids during March 2026, making it one of the most anticipated raid bosses of the month. The legendary Psychic type Pokémon has always been one of the most popular raid targets in the game thanks to its strong stats and exclusive moves.
Players preparing to battle Mewtwo should make sure they bring strong Dark, Ghost, and Bug type counters to maximise their chances of defeating the raid quickly.

Season of Memories in Motion (March – June 2026)
The new season, Memories in Motion, runs from:
March 3 at 10:00 a.m.
to
June 2, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. (local time)
Seasonal Bonuses
- Guaranteed Candy XL for Trainers level 31+ when trading
- 1 additional Candy when trading
- Increased XP for 7-day PokéStop streak
- Increased XP and Stardust for 7-day catch streak
Daily Discoveries
Each weekday now has themed bonuses:
Sunday – Double-Time Sunday
- Incense and Lures last twice as long (excluding Daily Adventure Incense and Golden Lures)
Monday – Fast-Track Monday
- 2× GO Points from Pass tasks
Tuesday – Showcase Tuesday
- PokéStop Showcases with up to 20 categories
Wednesday – Raid Hour
- 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Thursday – GO Battle Thursday
- Up to 10 GO Battle League sets
- Up to 4× Stardust from win rewards
Friday – Friendship Friday
- Two Special Trades
- Increased Lucky Trade chance
- Reduced Stardust trade cost
- Guaranteed Candy XL (level 31+)
This season also introduces Special Research featuring Volcanion.

Pokémon GO Ditto Event (March 10 – March 16)
Costumed Ditto debuts with hat and cap variants, boosted shiny encounters and XP bonuses.
2× XP for spinning PokéStops
10× XP for first-time spins
Shiny Sudowoodo and Shiny Zorua boosted

Bug Out 2026 (March 17 – March 23)
The Bug Out event returns with:
- Blipbug, Dottler and Orbeetle debut
- Shiny Sizzlipede release
- Rotating Lure spawns
- GO Pass: Bug Out progression
- 2× XP and Candy milestones
Lure rotation includes:
- Paras
- Cutiefly
- Combee
- Sizzlipede

Mega Dragonite Super Mega Raids
Mega Dragonite arrives in Super Mega Raids during Pokémon GO Tour: Kalos.
These raids:
- Require larger groups
- Feature enraged shield mechanics
- Allow Mega Level increases to Super Max
This is one of the biggest raid features of the month.
