The PlayStation PULSE release date in the UK is 19 November 2026, with the new wireless headset priced at £89.99. Preorders opened at 10am on Thursday 29 October through PlayStation’s UK online shop and participating retailers. Sony is launching both White and Midnight Black versions.
This is the new standard PULSE headset, rather than the existing PULSE Elite or the upcoming PULSE Edge. It offers planar magnetic drivers, PlayStation Link, Bluetooth connectivity and up to 30 hours of battery life. Sony has now published enough details to compare the actual package, not just its original announcement.
PlayStation PULSE release date and UK availability

Sony confirmed the PlayStation PULSE release date of 19 November in an update to its official announcement on 21 October. The UK is among the first countries receiving the headset, alongside the US, Canada, Japan and a range of European markets. There is no separate later UK launch window.
The PlayStation PULSE release date applies to both advertised colours. At the time of checking, Sony’s Midnight Black UK product page displays a preorder option at £89.99 and a one-per-order limit due to demand. Stock may vary between colours and retailers; check the order page for the delivery estimate rather than assuming the item will arrive early.
PlayStation PULSE release date and UK price
With the PlayStation PULSE release date confirmed, Sony’s recommended UK price is £89.99. Sony currently lists PULSE Elite for £129.99, so the 2026 standard PULSE costs £40 less when comparing Sony’s published prices. That difference could change at individual retailers if Elite is discounted, but the manufacturer’s prices are confirmed.
PULSE Edge is a different premium headset expected in early 2027. Sony has not announced an official UK price or preorder date for Edge. The £89.99 price belongs to the standard PULSE model only.
Preordering ahead of the PlayStation PULSE release date
Open Sony’s official UK PULSE product listing, choose the headset colour if a selection is offered and select Pre-Order. Check the quantity limit, delivery address, shipping options and final price before completing checkout. Sony also allows participating retailers to take preorders, so you do not have to buy directly from PlayStation.
The PlayStation PULSE release date is 19 November, but you can order ahead of launch while stock is offered. The preorder window began on 29 October at 10am local time. A listing showing a different date should be checked against the official announcement before placing an order.
Battery life, weight and audio features
Sony quotes up to 30 hours of wireless audio, chat or music from one charge. That figure was measured on preproduction hardware over PlayStation Link and will vary with settings and usage. The headset weighs approximately 300g and has rotating earcups that can lie flat for transport.
Each custom planar magnetic driver uses four magnets. Sony says the larger driver design targets clear positional audio and fuller bass, while Tempest 3D AudioTech is supported in compatible PS5 games. We have not treated Sony’s promotional sound claims as an independent listening test.
PlayStation Link provides wireless connectivity with PS5, PlayStation Portal, PC and Mac. You can simultaneously pair a compatible Bluetooth device for phone calls or audio while continuing to hear your PlayStation Link connection. An integrated microphone with AI noise rejection filters unwanted sound from outgoing chat.
What is included in the box?

The PlayStation PULSE retail package contains the headset, a PlayStation Link USB adapter with a USB-C connector, and a user manual. Sony does not list a carrying case, charging hanger or separate USB charging cable in the standard PULSE box. The included adapter is useful for connecting a PS5 or compatible computer without buying another adapter.
The standard headset has built-in volume controls, but Sony’s comparison table reserves a dedicated on-headset PS5 game/chat balance control for Edge. Sony’s product page also mentions chat balance through PS5 console integration; that should not be mistaken for the Edge model’s separate physical control.
Does PlayStation PULSE have noise cancellation?
The headset has AI-enhanced microphone noise rejection, which is intended to make your voice clearer to other people. It does not offer active noise cancellation for the person wearing it. Sony explicitly lists ANC on the more expensive PULSE Edge and not on standard PULSE.
The PlayStation PULSE release date therefore brings a headset suited to players who want wireless gaming and phone audio together, rather than a headset with ANC or a detachable boom microphone. Its integrated mic is different from Elite’s retractable boom and Edge’s removable boom.
PULSE or PULSE Elite: which makes more sense?
Both headsets offer PlayStation Link, Bluetooth, planar magnetic drivers and up to 30 hours of advertised battery life. New PULSE is cheaper at Sony’s current price and about 100g lighter, with an earcup design that packs flatter. Elite has a retractable microphone, an included charging hanger and published quick-charging support.
If you’re shopping ahead of the PlayStation PULSE release date, those are the differences worth weighing. There is no independent listening test here, so declaring the newer headset superior on sound quality would be premature. Our separate PULSE versus Elite comparison covers their confirmed features side by side.
