Pixel Gun 2 Season 1 is live with the September 7 global mobile launch, turning the early rollout into the first full live-service season. The launch update adds Dr Pip, Bounty Hunt, the Pool PvP map, Squad Mode, seven new weapons, new tasks and achievements, profile upgrades and the first Pixel Pass.

The scope of Pixel Gun 2 Season 1 matters because the game was already playable in selected regions before September 7. The global launch is therefore more than a switch being flipped for new countries; it arrives with a new build and a clear first-season content package.

Who Is Dr Pip?

Dr Pip is the new exclusive hero highlighted in the global launch update. Pixel Gun 2 characters are more than skins because each character can have passive perks and a unique ultimate ability.

Characters do not gain an automatic base-stat advantage in speed, health or basic combat values. Their identity comes from passive effects, rarity, upgrade potential and the ultimate, allowing Dr Pip and other heroes to shape a build without turning the game into fixed shooter classes.

Pixel Gun 2 Season 1 Bounty Hunt Explained

Bounty Hunt is one of the most important Pixel Gun 2 Season 1 additions. It is a team PvP mode where both sides fight for points while also trying to eliminate a special marked target on the opposing team.

Normal eliminations still score, but defeating the enemy team’s special target gives an additional five points. The target is selected from one of the strongest active players on the team and stays marked until eliminated. A new target is chosen after a short delay.

That changes team priorities because the strongest player can suddenly become both an asset and a high-value objective. Protecting your own target while pushing the opposing mark adds a tactical layer beyond simply chasing the nearest elimination.

What Is the Pool Map?

Pool is the new PvP map arriving with the global launch build. Pixel Gun 2 maps are designed around destructible environments, so learning a new arena means understanding not only its starting routes and cover but also which positions can disappear as a match develops.

That is central to the sequel’s identity. Walls do not remain permanent protection, and aggressive players can create new sightlines or flanking routes by damaging the environment.

How Does Squad Mode Work?

Squad Mode lets friends stay together as a group rather than repeatedly sending invitations after every battle. The squad leader chooses the mode and starts matchmaking once everyone is ready.

Squad members remain grouped after a match, and teammates are highlighted in green during play. There is also a Squad Bonus that can add extra Coins and XP to normal match rewards.

Experienced players can invite lower-level friends, and the weaker player may receive a Mentor Buff to make the level gap less punishing. That makes Squads one of the more useful social additions in Pixel Gun 2 Season 1, not just a menu convenience.

Pixel Gun 2 Season 1 Pixel Pass Explained

The first full Pixel Pass is live with Season 1. Pixel Pass is the seasonal progression track, using PPXP earned through matches and tasks.

Every pass has a Free Line, while Premium Pass owners gain a second reward line and access to additional challenges. Premium rewards are retroactive, so buying the pass after making progress can still unlock premium rewards from stages already completed.

How Long Does a Pixel Gun 2 Season Last?

Cubic Games says a normal season lasts around 70 days and is split into two acts of roughly 35 days. Each act usually contains around 50 reward stages, with its own theme, reward track and finale.

New players first encounter a shorter Newbie Pass before moving into the current seasonal track. That gives the game a way to teach seasonal progression without immediately dropping a fresh account into the full reward structure.

What Else Changed at Global Launch?

Pixel Gun 2 Season 1 also brings new tasks and achievements, profile customization through avatars, badges and titles, support for more languages, smoother matchmaking and additional bug fixes.

Seven new weapons expand the arsenal at the same time. Pixel Gun 2 weapons can appear in different rarities and with different Special Properties, so a larger weapon pool also creates more potential variations of each build.

What Should You Do First in Season 1?

Complete the early Rookie Challenges, check Progress Road unlocks and build a full eight-card Ability Deck before worrying about a perfect meta setup. The launch systems reward playing matches and testing equipment, while the destructible maps make raw familiarity valuable.

Then move into Bounty Hunt, Squads and the seasonal Pixel Pass once the basic loadout feels comfortable. Pixel Gun 2 Season 1 has enough overlapping progression that normal matches can advance several systems at once.
