Orynyx Mindcrawler Build should prioritise Speed, Accuracy and enough HP or Defence to survive the enemy’s response. Orynyx is a Magic-affinity Legendary Support Champion in RAID: Shadow Legends, designed to steal buffs, increase enemy skill cooldowns, block active skills and speed up his own team. He is particularly good in Arena, where stopping a dangerous enemy turn can decide the fight.
Don’t build him like a damage dealer. His value comes from taking an early turn, landing the lockout and surviving long enough to do it again. He doesn’t heal or revive teammates, so leave those jobs to the rest of your squad.
Orynyx Mindcrawler Build: Best Artifact Sets

For a flexible Orynyx Mindcrawler Build, start with Perception and Speed pieces carrying good substats. Perception helps stack the Accuracy needed to beat Resistance. Pinpoint, Feral and Supersonic can also work if the individual pieces fit your Speed target. If your Arena team often loses the speed race, consider Stoneskin to keep Orynyx alive for his first turn.
| Where to use him | Useful Artifact sets | Main benefit |
|---|---|---|
| Arena opener | Speed, Perception, Pinpoint | Act quickly and land debuffs |
| Defensive Arena | Stoneskin, Perception | Survive the enemy opener |
| PvE wave control | Reflex, Relentless, Perception | Cycle active skills |
| Budget setup | Best mixed Speed and Accuracy pieces | Better stats than a forced weak set |
Don’t sacrifice a pile of Speed and Accuracy just to finish a named set. Stoneskin is useful in a go-second Orynyx Mindcrawler Build, but it won’t rescue a setup that can’t land its debuffs.
Orynyx Mindcrawler Build: Best Main Stats and Substats
Speed and Accuracy come first. HP% and DEF% keep him standing. Crit Rate, Crit Damage and Attack are lower priorities in a control build. As an example for a developed Arena account, around 280 Speed and 350 Accuracy gives you something to work towards; harder Live Arena matchups may demand considerably more, particularly against high-Resistance opponents. These are planning targets, not guarantees that a debuff will land.
| Slot | Preferred main stat | Substats |
|---|---|---|
| Boots | Speed | Accuracy, HP%, DEF% |
| Chest | Accuracy or HP% / DEF% | Speed, survivability |
| Gloves | HP% or DEF% | Speed, Accuracy |
| Banner | Accuracy | Speed, HP%, DEF% |
| Ring and Amulet | HP or DEF | Survival stats |
| Weapon, Helmet and Shield | Fixed main stats | Speed and Accuracy |
In an Orynyx Mindcrawler Build for Arena, tune him to act immediately after your Turn Meter booster and before your primary damage dealer. Against PvE waves, you can sacrifice a little opening Speed for HP or Defence if it helps him survive several skill rotations.
Which Skills Matter Most for the Orynyx Mindcrawler Build?
Mindcrawler (A3) has a 75% base chance to increase all enemies’ skill cooldowns by three turns and fills allied Turn Meters by 20%. Clinging Webstorm (A2) hits everyone twice, first attempting to steal buffs and then to place Block Active Skills for two turns. Both can reach 100% effect chance with books, which makes A2 and A3 the skills to prioritise.
Dreamfang (A1) cuts one enemy’s Turn Meter by 10% and applies Sleep if Orynyx previously put that target’s active skills on cooldown. Neuroskitter makes his own skills immune to enemy cooldown increases, and can grant an Instant Turn when an enemy attempts to increase his or an ally’s cooldowns. The Instant Turn has a four-turn cooldown, so it cannot trigger constantly.
Prioritise A2 and A3 when spending books on your Orynyx Mindcrawler Build. They require 11 Legendary tomes altogether to fully book, reducing Clinging Webstorm to a three-turn cooldown and Mindcrawler to four. The control chances reach 100% before Accuracy and enemy Resistance are taken into account. His aura also grants 20% Speed in all battles.
Orynyx Mindcrawler Build: Masteries and Blessings
For Arena, use Support and Defence rather than chasing damage through the Offence tree. A useful Support route takes Pinpoint Accuracy, Charged Focus, Rapid Response, Arcane Celerity, Lore of Steel, Evil Eye, Master Hexer and the tier-six Eagle-Eye. In Defence, look at Defiant, Improved Parry, Rejuvenation, Resurgent, Delay Death and Retribution. Check the tier requirements in your own Masteries screen when allocating the points. This combination builds towards landing his debuffs and surviving the reply.
Temporal Chains is a strong Arena-oriented Blessing option because it helps restrict opposing turns. Polymorph is another PvP possibility at suitable Awakening levels. For some PvE teams, Brimstone or Cruelty may be more useful. The right choice depends on your team and Awakening level, not just on the Champion’s rarity.
Best Arena Teams for the Orynyx Mindcrawler Build
The easiest route is a go-first team: Arbiter + Orynyx + a Defence Down champion + an AoE nuker. Arbiter pushes your team forward, Orynyx disables important enemy skills, your debuffer prepares the targets and the nuker finishes the fight. Deacon Armstrong is one option for Defence Down and further Turn Meter manipulation, although he overlaps with Arbiter’s boosting role. Adjust the turn order so Orynyx acts before your damage dealer.
For a slower team, try Duchess Lilitu + Orynyx + Mithrala Lifebane + a damage dealer. Duchess brings protection and revival, while Mithrala supports the team with cleansing and defensive utility. Let Orynyx take advantage of his Instant Turn passive when an opponent attempts a cooldown lockout. Those are example compositions, not a promise that he’ll beat any team: high Resistance, protection effects and fast cleansers can still shut him down.
Is the Orynyx Mindcrawler Build Good for PvE?
Yes, against waves that allow control effects. Faction Wars and some Doom Tower encounters can benefit from his AoE debuffs, buff stealing and Turn Meter support. Many bosses resist or ignore control debuffs, however, and Orynyx brings no healing or shields. A specialist Support Champion may be better for those encounters.
If you haven’t summoned him yet, see the Orynyx fusion calendar and missed-events calculation. Work out whether you can still earn the four Primus Atalact copies before investing in gear for this Orynyx Mindcrawler Build.
