NVIDIA DLSS 5 Supported GPUs: RTX 50, RTX Spark and GeForce NOW Ultimate

NVIDIA DLSS 5 supported GPUs include the GeForce RTX 50 desktop and laptop series, plus NVIDIA RTX Spark systems. GeForce NOW Ultimate can also provide the new 3D-Guided Neural Rendering technology through cloud gaming when a supported title offers it.

The support list applies to Neural Rendering, not every older DLSS feature. Super Resolution, Ray Reconstruction and frame generation have different hardware requirements, and owning an older RTX card does not mean those earlier features have stopped working.

NVIDIA DLSS 5 supported GPUs and devices

NVIDIA’s November 2026 announcement confirms the full RTX 50 series, including laptop variants. Improvements to the neural model have made it possible to run on a single eligible GPU, instead of the two top-end cards used in early demonstrations.

RTX Spark PCs are included. GeForce NOW Ultimate members can use cloud rendering on supported games, so their local computer doesn’t need a desktop RTX 50. This doesn’t mean every GeForce NOW subscription or game automatically supports the new stage.

The NVIDIA DLSS 5 supported GPUs list describes hardware eligibility. A developer must still add Neural Rendering to each game. A new GeForce driver alone can’t make that happen.

Are RTX 40 and RTX 30 among NVIDIA DLSS 5 supported GPUs?

Not in NVIDIA’s currently announced local support list for 3D-Guided Neural Rendering. RTX 40 cards may still use compatible Super Resolution and frame-generation features in individual games. RTX 30 cards also retain their supported older DLSS modes.

War Thunder is a useful example: Gaijin confirms it already has a DLSS 4.5 model, although its new DLSS 5 implementation is scheduled for the Eagle’s Shadow update. Seeing a dropdown labelled DLSS Model does not prove Neural Rendering is available.

GTX graphics cards and AMD or Intel GPUs are not in NVIDIA’s official local Neural Rendering compatibility list. That doesn’t stop them from running many of these games with other graphics options. NVIDIA DLSS 5 supported GPUs refers specifically to this new effect.

What DLSS 5 actually does

Super Resolution reconstructs a higher-resolution image from a lower-resolution render. Ray Reconstruction works on ray-traced image detail. Frame Generation adds extra displayed frames, while Multi Frame Generation goes further on compatible cards.

3D-Guided Neural Rendering is different: it uses the game’s rendered frame, geometry and motion data to enhance lighting and materials at a final rendering stage. It is tuned by the developer to suit the game’s art direction.

A headline demonstration with 6X Multi Frame Generation does not promise six times the game’s underlying rendered-frame rate from Neural Rendering. The NVIDIA DLSS 5 supported GPUs announcement makes no universal FPS guarantee.

Games for NVIDIA DLSS 5 supported GPUs

NBA 2K27 already supports DLSS 5, and RTX Remix examples include Portal with RTX and the Half-Life 2 RTX demo. NVIDIA has also announced several individual updates arriving in November.

Hogwarts Legacy is scheduled to add the new Neural Rendering option on 5 November. War Thunder will add it in the Eagle’s Shadow update in mid-November, while Where Winds Meet has a planned date of 23 November.

Those dates aren’t interchangeable. Driver 621.14 arrived on 4 November, but it doesn’t instantly activate an upcoming game patch. The NVIDIA DLSS 5 supported GPUs list should always be checked alongside the actual game’s release status.

This is a selection of announced games, not a claim that every game using an older DLSS mode has been upgraded.

NVIDIA DLSS 5 supported GPUs and VRAM

NVIDIA says the newer neural model has roughly 118 million parameters, reducing its footprint by 24%. It reports double the previous model’s speed and around 20% less memory usage at 4K.

Those numbers are comparisons between model versions, not a guarantee that every game will use 20% less total VRAM. NVIDIA has not established a single minimum memory figure for every game using the technology. Do not treat 8GB, 12GB or 16GB as an official universal threshold.

The NVIDIA DLSS 5 supported GPUs category includes both desktop and laptop hardware, but that does not make their gaming performance identical. Cooling, power limits, screen resolution and individual game settings still matter.

How to check your GPU and switch on Neural Rendering

On Windows, open Task Manager, select Performance and check the GPU model. Device Manager also identifies the graphics card under Display adapters. Check the model family before assuming the new technology is available locally.

Install an appropriate NVIDIA Game Ready Driver, then the relevant game update. Hogwarts Legacy’s official instructions say to open Options and turn on Neural Rendering after its 5 November update. The final settings routes for the later War Thunder and Where Winds Meet updates must be checked when those releases arrive.

For a cloud session, confirm your GeForce NOW Ultimate membership and that the updated game is available. If the new control is missing, inspect the patch version, GPU and driver. A generic performance preset cannot add an unsupported final-rendering stage.

NVIDIA DLSS 5 supported GPUs are the starting point, but that check cannot replace the game’s own documented setup.

Do you need to upgrade?

Not unless you specifically want Neural Rendering locally and have a card outside the current support range. Existing DLSS features remain useful on other GeForce generations, and many games offer other upscaling choices.

The NVIDIA DLSS 5 supported GPUs list is a practical compatibility guide, not a requirement to buy a new card to play Hogwarts Legacy, War Thunder or Where Winds Meet.
