Fortnite Chapter 1 Season 4 map shows dusty divot and the meteor crater on the original Battle Royale island. Season 4 was when the meteor finally hit. Dusty Depot was transformed into Dusty Divot, turning a familiar group of warehouses into a giant impact crater with a research site. The old map is worth revisiting because it shows what players could actually land at during this period, not what later Fortnite OG recreations brought back.
Below is the real Chapter 1 Season 4 island map, labelled with its patch number. You’ll also find the major named locations, how the terrain changed and what to look for when comparing this season with the maps before and after it.

What changed on the Chapter 1 Season 4 island?
The crater changed the map near its centre. As the season progressed, vegetation spread through Dusty Divot and the landscape evolved from the stark damage at launch. Risky Reels also became a named landing spot in the northeast.
The crater was impossible to miss from the Battle Bus. It gave players a new fighting area with steep slopes and points of cover, replacing the simpler layout of the old depots. It also connected Fortnite’s in-game story to visible, persistent geography.
What locations were added in Chapter 1 Season 4?
Dusty Divot and Risky Reels were important parts of this season’s map story. Chapter 1 Season 3 still had Dusty Depot. Season 4 shows Dusty Divot, which helps distinguish the two historical maps at a glance. The area later changed again during the Chapter 1 storyline.
If you’re looking for Tilted Towers, it was already on the map by this point; the dramatic addition was the central crater.

Use the expandable comparison pictures below to see the change rather than relying on memory. The v4.5 screenshot is a mid-season view: some environmental details developed after the meteor’s first impact. The patch labels help make sense of why an image from early in a season might look different from one taken several updates later.

How Dusty Divot defines the Fortnite Chapter 1 Season 4 map
The biggest visual marker on the Fortnite Chapter 1 Season 4 map is Dusty Divot. The former depot became a huge crater, and the research facilities built around the impact made the site part of the season’s evolving storyline. The Divot changed the look of the island’s centre, which previously had a more ordinary warehouse complex.
Because the Fortnite Chapter 1 Season 4 map continued changing as vegetation grew in the crater, two legitimate Season 4 screenshots may look noticeably different. Always compare the patch label on a map image before deciding whether you’re looking at the same stage of the season.
Fortnite Chapter 1 Season 4 map compared with Fortnite OG
The screenshot here comes from the original Chapter 1 release. Fortnite OG may bring back recognisable landmarks, but its event schedule and exact terrain can differ from what players saw the first time. If you are trying to identify an old clip, the season and patch number matter more than the fact that a familiar town has returned.
