Fortnite Chapter 1 Season 3 map shows lucky landing and the approaching meteor on the original Battle Royale island. Season 3 still had the increasingly familiar island from Season 2, but it added Lucky Landing at the southern edge and introduced the ominous meteor that would eventually change Dusty Depot forever. The old map is worth revisiting because it shows what players could actually land at during this period, not what later Fortnite OG recreations brought back.
Below is the real Chapter 1 Season 3 island map, labelled with its patch number. You’ll also find the major named locations, how the terrain changed and what to look for when comparing this season with the maps before and after it.

Open the image to see the historical map at full size. It comes from update v3.5.0, so it represents a particular point within the season rather than every small change across its entire run.

What changed on the Chapter 1 Season 3 island?
Lucky Landing’s distinct architecture stood out near the island’s southern shore. The update did not remake the whole map like Season 2’s giant new-POI expansion. Instead, it refined a landscape now familiar to Fortnite players and let the storyline build overhead.
Players who started in Season 3 remember a map with Tilted Towers and the other additions from the previous season already in place. The meteor was a developing story and not yet the impact crater seen in later maps.
What locations were added in Chapter 1 Season 3?
Lucky Landing were important parts of this season’s map story. The Season 3 map still shows Dusty Depot rather than Dusty Divot. The Divot arrived after the meteor hit at the start of Season 4. It’s an easy visual check when identifying screenshots without their original patch dates.
The later Season 4 map is the one to open if you’re looking for Dusty Divot or the meteor’s aftermath.
Fortnite Chapter 1 Season 3 map compared with the previous season
Use the expandable comparison pictures below to see the change rather than relying on memory. This image shows patch v3.5.0, near the end of Season 3, before the huge crater existed. The patch labels help make sense of why an image from early in a season might look different from one taken several updates later.

What the Fortnite Chapter 1 Season 3 map tells us about the meteor
Look closely at the Fortnite Chapter 1 Season 3 map and you’ll still find Dusty Depot, with its original warehouses intact. That single detail places the screenshot before the meteor’s impact. The arrival of Lucky Landing had already given the southern coast a new place to explore, but the huge crater was still in the future.
The Fortnite Chapter 1 Season 3 map is therefore an especially useful reference if you’re trying to date an older Fortnite clip. Tilted Towers is present, Dusty Depot is untouched, and the island’s familiar landmarks sit in their pre-Season 4 positions.
Fortnite Chapter 1 Season 3 map compared with Fortnite OG
The screenshot here comes from the original Chapter 1 release. Fortnite OG may bring back recognisable landmarks, but its event schedule and exact terrain can differ from what players saw the first time. If you are trying to identify an old clip, the season and patch number matter more than the fact that a familiar town has returned.
