Fortnite Chapter 1 Season 2 map shows the tilted towers update on the original Battle Royale island. The original island grew into the Fortnite map most long-time players remember. The huge January 2018 update added a set of named locations, turning quieter stretches of land into some of the busiest places to drop. The old map is worth revisiting because it shows what players could actually land at during this period, not what later Fortnite OG recreations brought back.
Below is the real Chapter 1 Season 2 island map, labelled with its patch number. You’ll also find the major named locations, how the terrain changed and what to look for when comparing this season with the maps before and after it.

What changed on the Chapter 1 Season 2 island?
Tilted Towers brought tall buildings, dense rooftops and a much more frantic opening fight. Shifty Shafts offered a smaller mine complex, while the houses of Snobby Shores gave players a neighbourhood on the western coast. Haunted Hills and Junk Junction made the northwestern area more interesting.
Tilted Towers quickly became a popular choice for players looking for immediate action. Landing there meant fighting through towers, stairwells and rooftops, while nearby routes through Loot Lake and the central hills remained useful for rotating.
What locations were added in Chapter 1 Season 2?
Tilted Towers, Shifty Shafts, Snobby Shores, Haunted Hills and Junk Junction were important parts of this season’s map story. Season 1 players didn’t have Tilted Towers at all. The Season 2 map placed multiple substantial POIs between and around older named areas, rather than replacing the whole island.
Chapter 1 Season 1 had Pleasant Park, Greasy Grove and Retail Row, but not Tilted Towers. Chapter 2 later introduced an entirely new island; Chapter 1’s expansion grew familiar terrain.

Use the expandable comparison pictures below to see the change rather than relying on memory. The pictured v2.5.0 map is a later Season 2 snapshot. Its landmarks show the large POI expansion after the season began. The patch labels help make sense of why an image from early in a season might look different from one taken several updates later.

Why the Fortnite Chapter 1 Season 2 map still matters
The Fortnite Chapter 1 Season 2 map established some of the island’s most enduring landing spots. Tilted Towers, in particular, changed the pace of matches by drawing a large share of the lobby toward a dense cluster of buildings. It was possible to spend the first few minutes fighting indoors, hopping across rooftops or escaping through narrow streets.
When you compare the Fortnite Chapter 1 Season 2 map with Season 1, the difference isn’t just the number of names printed on the island. The new areas fill in space that previously felt comparatively quiet, giving players a much wider range of routes across the northwest and centre.

The screenshot here comes from the original Chapter 1 release. Fortnite OG may bring back recognisable landmarks, but its event schedule and exact terrain can differ from what players saw the first time. If you are trying to identify an old clip, the season and patch number matter more than the fact that a familiar town has returned.
