ESO Tamriel Tomes replaced several older login and challenge rewards with a seasonal system where you complete Weekly and Seasonal Challenges, earn Tome Points and choose which page rewards to claim. The basic Tome is free for everyone, with optional Premium upgrades for extra cosmetics and benefits.
It’s easy to waste points in Tamriel Tomes if you misunderstand page unlocks. Pages unlock automatically from Tome Points earned, not from the amount you’ve spent on earlier rewards. You can save points for a later page and select individual rewards when they become available.
ESO Tamriel Tomes – How to open the current Tamriel Tome
Open the game’s Main Menu and select Tamriel Tomes. Choose the active season to view its unlocked pages, challenges and available free rewards. The Free Tome is provided automatically, so you don’t need a Crown Store purchase to begin earning points. Tamriel Tomes progress is tied to that season; make sure you’re looking at the current Tome before checking a challenge from an old screenshot.
Earn Tome Points from challenges
Weekly and Seasonal Challenges in Tamriel Tomes award Tome Points. Open the challenge menu, read the exact objective and finish it in the specified activity, whether that is exploration, combat, crafting or another in-game task. The points add to your seasonal total and unlock pages as you reach their progression thresholds. Choose challenges that fit how you like to play, then use the points on the rewards you actually want.
Pages unlock from earning, not spending
When enough Tome Points have been earned, the next page opens automatically. Spending those points on an individual reward does not set back page progression. You can leave early-page rewards unclaimed and save currency for an item on a later unlocked page, as long as you understand the end-of-season rules. It’s the total points earned that unlock a new page, not the amount you spend on rewards. Check the earned progression bar and spendable balance separately.
Tamriel Tomes: free, Premium and Premium plus Bonuses
The Free Tome grants the basic reward selection to all players. Premium adds access to the season’s premium reward choices and allows that purchased Tome to keep progressing after its season ends. Premium plus Bonuses also includes additional Tome Point caches and an exclusive purchase bonus. Both paid versions must be acquired while their season is available. You can complete ordinary challenges and claim free rewards without buying a Premium Tome.
ESO Plus boosts, caches and Premium Tome Tokens
ESO Plus provides a 10% boost to Tome Points earned from Weekly and Seasonal Challenges. Members also receive a Cache of Tome Points worth 2,000 for each month of membership, and Premium Tome Tokens that can eventually be used toward a Premium plus Bonuses Tome. The official arrangement awards one token per subscription month, with twelve needed for that highest tier. Check your inventory for caches and the Tamriel Tomes menu for token totals before submitting a missing-reward support report.
ESO Tamriel Tomes – Weekly rerolls and challenge problems
Weekly Challenges include rerolls, with five free rerolls replenishing each Monday and an overall cap on stored rerolls. Update 50 also allowed additional rerolls to be purchased for gold. If a listed objective won’t register, check whether it was removed from the rotation due to a known bug; ZeniMax removed some broken challenges in an April 2026 hotfix. If a challenge doesn’t progress, check its exact name and the current game update before reporting a bug.
What happens to Tamriel Tomes when a season ends
A maximum of 2,000 unspent Tome Points can roll into the next season. At the end, the system automatically claims eligible leftover rewards in a defined order using excess points, prioritising higher pages within the first ten pages, and premium items when applicable. Remaining points above the rollover limit then convert to gold at ten gold per point. Certain consumable-type rewards are skipped by the automatic claimer. Check your remaining unclaimed rewards before the current season ends.
Can you finish older Tamriel Tomes after a season ends?
If you purchased Premium or Premium plus Bonuses during the Tome’s original season, that Tome remains available for continued reward progression afterwards. The free-only version is tied to the season and cannot simply be purchased later as a premium upgrade once the deadline has passed. Whether you can keep progressing an older Tome depends on which version you bought during its season. Check the purchase and seasonal end date displayed in the live menu rather than assuming every past reward is still claimable.
Choosing Tamriel Tomes rewards without wasting points
Browse the unlocked pages and mark the cosmetics, currencies or collectibles you care about. Don’t spend every point immediately if a later page has something more useful to you. Before the end of a season, review the 2,000-point rollover allowance and claim non-auto-claimable items manually. You can save your Tome Points for a valuable reward on a later unlocked page.
