The Edge of Memories release date is now Thursday, 3 December 2026. NACON and Midgar Studio have postponed the action RPG from its original 5 November launch, and the new date applies to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC.
Midgar Studio confirmed the delay on 23 October, following NACON’s announcement earlier that month. An updated Steam demo is also due in early November. If you’ve seen November 5 on a shop page, that’s the old release date, not a separate launch schedule.
Edge of Memories release date and confirmed platforms

3 December 2026 is the global launch date for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam. The announcement doesn’t include a universal release hour, so don’t assume the game unlocks at midnight in the UK. Preload details and platform-specific unlock times haven’t been established by the developer’s latest update.
The previous launch date was 5 November 2026. Some NACON product pages still display 05/11, but its October press release and the developer’s Steam announcement both confirm December 3 across the three platforms.
Why did the Edge of Memories release date move?
Midgar Studio said it wanted a quieter place in the end-of-year release calendar. The delay also gives the team additional time for quality-of-life improvements.
In September, the studio discussed player feedback on combat balance, enemy reactions, cutscene lip-sync and performance. It also mentioned motion-blur and subtitle options. Those are specific examples of what the team has been refining since the first demo.
When will the updated Edge of Memories Steam demo return?
The refreshed demo is due on Steam in early November 2026. Midgar Studio says it will incorporate changes made since Steam Next Fest, including improvements to combat. The latest announcement doesn’t give an exact release day or hour.
The original demo covered the opening chapter and was available until 30 June. Midgar Studio warned that it would stop working afterwards, even for players who had installed it. The new demo will bring back that introduction with further refinements.
There is no confirmed promise that demo progress will transfer to the finished game. If you’re playing ahead of December, treat it as a chance to try the opening hours rather than a head start on your main save.
What kind of RPG is Edge of Memories?
The story follows Eline, a Soul Whisperer in the continent of Avaris. The Corrosion is turning wildlife, people and landscapes into dangerous forms, and Eline fights alongside companions including Ysoris and Kanta. Instead of turn-based battles, the game uses active combat built around combos, dodges and party abilities.
The Corrosion also plays into exploration. As it spreads, familiar places change and previously blocked paths can open. It gives Eline a reason to revisit areas rather than moving through Avaris in a straight line.
Does the Edge of Memories release date change Deluxe early access?
NACON originally advertised a 48-hour head start with eligible Deluxe preorders. Now that the standard Edge of Memories release date is December 3, check your chosen storefront for its revised access details. The October delay announcement doesn’t specify a new UK unlock hour.
Our Deluxe Edition comparison covers the costume packs and other extras, while the PC requirements guide has the official hardware specifications. The confirmed Edge of Memories release date for the standard game is Thursday, December 3.
