EA FC 27 Title Update 1.0.4 is out now, and Career Mode players finally have concrete fixes for several of the problems reported since launch. The October 7 update reduces the number of generated footballers appearing with unexpectedly high ratings, corrects the Liga MX season restart and changes some frustrating transfer negotiations.
There’s plenty here for Ultimate Team and The Grounds too, although anyone hoping for a major gameplay rebalance will have to wait. EA has specifically confirmed that this update makes no gameplay balance or tuning changes. Here’s what the patch actually fixes, along with a few expectations it doesn’t promise to meet.

The official EA FC 27 Title Update 1.0.4 notes cover four categories. Career Mode receives the largest collection of changes, and the fixes in the other modes focus on crashes, menus and incorrect visuals rather than revised football mechanics.

Those are the changes officially attributed to EA FC 27 Title Update 1.0.4. If you’ve seen online posts describing substantial passing, defending, pace or shooting tuning as part of 1.0.4, that does not match EA’s own patch notes.
Career Mode fixes: generated players and Liga MX
In Career Mode, EA FC 27 Title Update 1.0.4 addresses one of the most noticeable problems involving newly generated footballers entering saves with unusually high Overall Ratings or Potential. EA says it has reduced the amount of these players generated. That is different from saying every high-rated generated player is removed or that all previously created players will be rewritten.

Liga MX has also received a specific calendar fix. Some seasons were restarting in May, whereas the intended restart was in mid-January. EA lists the calendar issue as addressed. If you’re already midway through a disrupted Career save, the notes don’t explicitly confirm that a previously incorrect calendar is rebuilt retroactively.

EA FC 27 Title Update 1.0.4 transfer negotiation changes
EA FC 27 Title Update 1.0.4 also has two separate Career Mode negotiation adjustments. First, making an offer dramatically higher than a selling club’s requested transfer sum will now trigger a response instead of instant acceptance. Second, EA has fixed certain CPU counteroffers that could incorrectly rise above the club’s original demands or guaranteed fees.
There’s also a fix for free agent signings when the transfer market was disabled or the player was outside an active transfer window. Finally, EA addressed a stability issue that could arise when choosing certain teams in Live Start Points.
These changes are not the same as a complete overhaul of Career Mode transfer activity. The earlier Career Mode developer update also covered wider feedback, including loan and transfer offer frequency and player playtime complaints. EA FC 27 Title Update 1.0.4 should be judged by the actual fixes listed here rather than by every item previously under investigation.
Ultimate Team and The Grounds fixes
For Football Ultimate Team, EA FC 27 Title Update 1.0.4 addresses an occasional Service Unavailable error appearing after matches. Certain Player Picks could also show incorrect holographic visuals on base items, which weren’t supposed to have those appearances. Neither change introduces a new type of pack reward or alters the normal rules for Player Picks.
In The Grounds, viewing the active club from a Player Profile could sometimes leave players stuck on a loading screen that required a full game restart. EA has fixed that case and also corrected some post-match menu flow problems. These fixes target reliability and navigation, not the underlying football gameplay.
If you’re playing Ultimate Team during the Future Stars Academy event or the Back to Basics Exhibition, remember that the event rewards and unlock requirements are separate from this patch. The update’s Ultimate Team notes cover error handling and visuals only.
What has not changed in EA FC 27 Title Update 1.0.4?
For EA FC 27 Title Update 1.0.4, EA is explicit that there are no gameplay balance or tuning changes. That means there is no official basis here for claiming that shooting, defensive AI, goalkeeper reactions or movement have been buffed or nerfed by this particular update.
The general fixes are also limited. In FC Lite, randomising sides in Kick-Off could produce unintended teams; that behaviour has been addressed. EA additionally lists unspecified stability improvements. Without further detail, it’s better not to attach an unsupported platform-specific fix to that general statement.
