EA FC 27 Future Stars Academy: How It Works, Eligibility and Dates

EA FC 27 Future Stars Academy

EA FC 27 Future Stars Academy lets you take one young ST or CAM and build them into an 85-rated Future Stars item through four free Evolutions. The Academy started on October 9, with the remaining stages arriving on October 11, October 13 and October 16.

The fun part is that your Academy player is not locked into one identical upgrade path. Each stage asks you to choose how the card develops, so two people can start with the same youngster and end up with noticeably different versions. That makes the first player choice more important than a normal throwaway Evolution.

EA’s official EA FC 27 Future Stars Academy rules start with two headline requirements: your chosen player must be an ST or CAM and must have been born on or after October 9, 2003. The live Evolution adds several extra limits before a card can actually enter Academy I.

RequirementAcademy I limit
Overall rating80 or lower
PositionST or CAM
Date of birthOctober 9, 2003 or later
Pace86 or lower
PlayStylesMaximum 7
Repeatable?No, one player per club
CostFree

That last point matters. Academy I is not a cheap Evo you can test on three cards and decide later which one you like. Once you commit your player, that is the prospect you are developing through the chain.

How EA FC 27 Future Stars Academy works

The EA FC 27 Future Stars Academy is a four-part Evolution chain. Academy I takes the chosen player to 81 OVR, then later stages build the same card towards 82, 83 and finally 85.

Academy stageRelease dateTarget OVRMain choice
Academy IOctober 981Pace, Shooting or Dribbling
Academy IIOctober 1182Playmaker, Powerhouse or All-Rounder
Academy IIIOctober 1383Rapid, Power Shot or Technical route
Academy IVOctober 1685Final shooting or passing/stat route

EA’s own promo image shows the Academy card climbing from 81 to 85 across that October 9 to 16 window. The live Evolution data adds the path details, which is where the system gets much more interesting than a straight stat bump.

What happens in Future Stars Academy I?

Academy I is the first decision point. The base upgrade raises the player to 81 OVR and improves a wide spread of attacking attributes. The final level then lets you choose one of three identities.

  • Pace: acceleration, sprint speed, positioning and finishing, plus a Weak Foot upgrade.
  • Shooting: finishing, shot power, long shots, volleys and composure, plus a Weak Foot upgrade.
  • Dribbling: agility, balance, ball control and dribbling, plus a Skill Moves upgrade.

The full Academy I Evolution needs five matches and one win. FUT.GG’s live data lists Squad Battles on at least Semi-Pro, Rush, Rivals, Champions and Live Events as valid modes for the match requirements.

Which player should you choose for EA FC 27 Future Stars Academy?

There is not one universally correct EA FC 27 Future Stars Academy choice because your first decision depends on what the base card is missing. A striker with strong dribbling but poor finishing may benefit more from Shooting, while a technically clean CAM with low speed can get much more from the Pace route.

Before submitting a player, check their body type, roles, weak foot, skill moves and the PlayStyles they already own. An 80-rated card with a useful starting PlayStyle set can age much better through four Evolutions than a higher-profile name whose weaknesses are harder to fix.

Can you change your Academy player later?

Academy I is currently listed as non-repeatable, so your first selection deserves some thought. This is one EA FC 27 Future Stars Academy project for your club rather than an unlimited testing ground.

That does not stop you from changing upgrade paths at each later stage. The point of the Academy is that your player can branch as the chain develops, but the underlying player item remains the one you enrolled at the start.

Future Stars Academy Objective

EA has also confirmed a separate Future Stars Academy Objective during the promo. It is designed to reward you for actually using your Academy player rather than finishing the Evolutions and leaving the card in storage.

The exact live objective set should be checked in Ultimate Team before claiming a full reward list, because EA’s announcement confirms the Objective but does not publish every task. That is separate from Back to Basics, which has its own 4-4-2 restrictions and reward ladder.

How Future Stars Academy fits the wider promo

EA FC 27 Future Stars Academy is one part of a much broader two-week promo. Team 1 Future Stars receive real-world performance upgrades, Back to Basics is the first Live Event, and Week 2 adds the PlayStyle+ Lab alongside the first UEFA Star Performers eligible for PlayStyle+ upgrades.

EA is also running player SBCs, puzzle SBCs and more Future Stars content during the campaign. That gives you a reason to think about your Academy player as part of a squad rather than chasing the highest-looking 85 OVR card in isolation.

EA FC 27 Future Stars Academy quick answer

EA FC 27 Future Stars Academy lets you enrol one eligible ST or CAM born on or after October 9, 2003, then develop that card through four free Evolutions released on October 9, 11, 13 and 16. Academy I is limited to 80 OVR, 86 Pace and seven PlayStyles, and the final chain reaches 85 OVR.

Take a minute before committing the first player. The Academy is non-repeatable, and the value comes from matching the upgrade paths to a card you actually want to keep using once all four stages are finished.
