EA FC 27 Liga MX Career Mode Bug: Clausura Progression Fix Is Coming

EA FC 27 Liga MX Career Mode Bug with Apertura and Clausura progression

EA FC 27 Liga MX Career Mode Bug has been addressed in Title Update 1.0.4, released October 7. EA fixed the incorrect May season restart so Liga MX should return in mid-January. If an older save already contains a broken calendar, though, EA has not confirmed that its dates will be rewritten.

The EA FC 27 Liga MX Career Mode Bug was especially noticeable because the league’s Apertura and Clausura structure is central to managing a Mexican club. When the second part of the season does not progress correctly, it affects far more than one fixture or menu screen.

EA’s launch developer update says it is aware of issues affecting how Liga BBVA MX currently progresses, including the Clausura part of the season. The wording confirms a game-side progression problem rather than an intended simplification of the league format.

EA’s earlier Career Mode deep dive explicitly said Liga MX would appear with its characteristic competition structure including the Apertura and Clausura tournaments. The current bug therefore prevents Career from consistently delivering the structure EA originally announced.

EA released the calendar correction on October 7 in Title Update 1.0.4, but did not say which older save states would be repaired retroactively.

How Liga MX is supposed to work in FC 27

Liga BBVA MX returned with official squads, clubs and kits, alongside the two-part Apertura and Clausura structure. That means Career progression needs to move correctly from one tournament phase into the next rather than behaving like a standard single-season European league.

The EA FC 27 Liga MX Career Mode Bug matters because league standings, fixtures and season objectives all depend on that progression. A failure around the Clausura can derail an otherwise healthy long-term save.

Is there an official EA FC 27 Liga MX Career Mode Bug workaround?

EA has not published a guaranteed workaround in the September 29 developer note. There is no official instruction telling players to simulate from a particular date, change a setting or restart a competition to restore the missing progression.

Avoid presenting community workarounds as a permanent fix unless you can reproduce them safely. For an important Career, keep a manual save before the transition between competition stages so you have somewhere to return if the season becomes stuck.

Should you start a new Liga MX Career after the update?

You can still play Liga MX, and the October 7 patch should prevent the incorrect May restart. If the Apertura and Clausura structure is why you chose the league, check your calendar after updating before committing to a long save.

If you continue now, keep multiple manual saves instead of relying on one rolling file. That will not repair the EA FC 27 Liga MX Career Mode Bug, but it reduces the risk of losing the whole Career if the competition state fails later in the season.

Will the EA FC 27 Liga MX Career Mode Bug fix repair existing saves?

EA has not confirmed whether Title Update 1.0.4 retroactively repairs a Liga MX season that was already stuck. Career fixes can behave differently depending on whether the problem is stored in the save or recalculated by the game after an update.

Keep the affected save rather than deleting it. After installing Title Update 1.0.4, test the same file before deciding that a new Career is required.

Why the EA FC 27 Liga MX Career Mode Bug deserves its own page

The main Career developer update covers several unrelated areas, but Liga MX progression has a very specific search problem: players want to know why the Clausura is missing, skipped or not advancing correctly.

The EA FC 27 Liga MX Career Mode Bug is a specific calendar problem, separate from the generated-player and transfer negotiation issues addressed in the same update. If your league restarts in May, compare it with a fresh Career after patching.

What to check after installing Title Update 1.0.4

Title Update 1.0.4 is the patch that changes Liga MX progression. EA identifies the unintended May restart and says the season should begin again in mid-January. That is the confirmed correction, not a promise that every old Career will be rebuilt.

The fix is available now. The remaining question is how a save that was already affected behaves after installing the patch.

The EA FC 27 Liga MX Career Mode Bug should no longer affect new season restarts in the same way after patching, but keep a backup if your current save already has incorrect fixtures.
