Dominus Gladiatus Fatigue and Injuries: Infirmary, Risk and Recovery

Dominus Gladiatus fatigue and injuries are linked, but they are not the same problem. Fighting raises a gladiator’s Fatigue, which can increase the chance of an injury, while an injured fighter may need time in the Infirmary before returning to the arena.

Several demo patches changed the injury rules and recovery times. The August figures explain how the system worked then, while September and October brought further changes. This is how to manage your gladiators without relying on outdated odds.

How Dominus Gladiatus fatigue and injuries work

Arena battles leave gladiators tired. Sending the same fighter back without rest raises the injury risk. An August update also moved the injury reveal until the fighters return to the Ludus, so a win doesn’t necessarily mean everyone came home unhurt.

The August 30 demo patch made the connection explicit. It introduced an injury-risk calculation based on accumulated Fatigue, with the results revealed when your fighters returned to the Ludus. These figures explain that particular version’s balance, not guaranteed probabilities in the full game.

Brain Seal changed recovery again on September 17. For Dominus Gladiatus fatigue and injuries, the useful habit is checking the fighter’s current Fatigue and injury markers before selecting another match, rather than memorising the old percentages.

How to recover Fatigue in the Quarters

The Quarters are for rest. In Demo Patch #5, Brain Seal increased the speed at which Quarters restore Fatigue. If a fighter has been fighting repeatedly, resting before another difficult match can protect a valuable member of your roster from unnecessary risk.

Use the recovery information shown in your game instead of following a fixed rest schedule. You can bring in another gladiator while a tired champion recovers in the Quarters.

Dominus Gladiatus fatigue and injuries: When to use the Infirmary

Put an injured gladiator into the Infirmary to recover rather than sending them straight back into another arena encounter. The September 17 update made early discharge more complicated: leaving the Infirmary before recovery is finished removes injuries according to the recovery time completed, but restores Fatigue to its value before admission.

Partial medical treatment isn’t the same as resting. Someone discharged early can still have the Fatigue they had on admission. If that happens, use the Quarters before sending them back to fight.

Before a difficult battle, inspect your roster. Leave injured fighters in treatment and give exhausted gladiators some time off. It can be better to risk an inexperienced recruit in a manageable fight than to lose the only champion you have.

What does the Harden talent do?

The Harden talent was added in the August 30 demo patch. Brain Seal describes a Harden gladiator as immune to injuries caused by Fatigue in the arena. That’s a useful trait when you have a fighter who may need to compete repeatedly, though it is not a promise of immunity to every possible injury or fatal outcome.

Check talents as well as Health when buying gladiators. Harden can make a recruit useful during a demanding run of matches, but price, equipment and the rest of the roster still matter. Our Slave Market guide covers the recruitment choices.

How does Morale affect gladiators?

Morale is separate from Fatigue and injuries. October 7’s patch added a clearer suicide-risk display, and the October 16 update changed the interaction between critical injuries and prolonged low Morale. Reaching the maximum injuries no longer triggers an immediate suicide event; instead, it increases the danger for a fighter already suffering sustained low Morale. The Doctore’s whip no longer causes a Morale penalty.

Tired, injured and demoralised aren’t interchangeable. Rest helps Fatigue, the Infirmary treats injuries, and low Morale carries its own dangers. Check which problem you’re dealing with before choosing what to do next.

The best way to manage Dominus Gladiatus fatigue and injuries is to rest exhausted fighters in the Quarters, treat injured ones in the Infirmary and consider the Harden talent when recruiting. Use the current character indicators to decide who is fit for the arena.
